Weekly Trophy Tip: Dragon Age: Inquisition – Dragon’s Bane

I know, I know, another Dragon Age: Inquisition trophy tip. This one though is totally worth it. I promise! The first couple of times I played, I could barely take down one dragon let alone 10, but I developed a strategy and found what each dragon’s weakness was and taking down all 10 of them became extremely easy.

Dragon Age: Inquisition – Dragon’s Bane
Slay 10 high dragon’s in single-player mode – Silver
TIP: The first thing you want to do is just play the game. Level up your characters along with your companions. Mages are a very important part of successfully taking down these 10 dragons so you’re going to want to make sure that you have all of the mages and didn’t turn any of them away from helping you. You’ll need Solas, Vivinne, and Dorian. You’ll want to have all of them as spirit mages so that they all have the power to add barriers to themselves as well as everyone else in the party. Since you can choose two specializations for each character I would suggest making Solas an ice mage, Dorian an electricity mage and it is very important to make Vivinne a knight-enchanter. This will make her unstoppable. Seriously. Also, I would suggest setting your difficulty down to casual for this. It makes the overall battle more controllable and less frustrating. Knowing each dragon’s level and weakness also helps, so here is everything you’re going to need for each dragon:

Ferelden Frostback
• Level – 12
• Location – The Hinterlands
• Resistant – Fire
• Vulnerable – Cold
All you have to do is enter the area that this dragon is in. Once you enter the Dusklight camp, continue to head North. At this point you’ll get a little teaser of the dragon so make sure to follow her to her nesting area to take her on.

Northern Hunter
• Level – 13
• Location – Crestwood
• Resistant – Electricity
• Vulnerable – Spirit
Make sure that you complete all the quests in Crestwood before going to face this dragon since you’ll have to have the lake drained and the fade rift closed. Once you have that done just head South of the Tree Trout Farm camp.

The Abyssal High Dragon
• Level – 14
• Location – Western Approach
• Resistant – Fire
• Vulnerable – Cold
In order to even think about taking on this dragon you have to complete all of Fedric’s quests. You’ll run into him during the game and from there he’ll ask you to do a bunch of things before sending you on the final quest of baiting the dragon.

Gamoran Stormrider
• Level – 15
• Location – The Exalted Plains
• Resistant – Electricity
• Vulnerable – Spirit
To reach this dragon you have to unlock the war table operation Clear the Rubble. You do not have to go into the cave to reach this dragon! All you have to do is go to the area that is packed with wyverns. Make your way through there and head towards the bog where you’ll find the dragon. This way you don’t have to complete the puzzle in the cave.

Greater Mistral
• Level – 17
• Location – The Emerald Graves
• Resistant – Cold
• Vulnerable – Fire
Head to the very far north of the Emerald Graves in order to reach this dragon. Once you do she’ll be ready for battle so you better be too.

Vinsomer
• Level – 19
• Location – The Storm Coast
• Resistant – Electricity
• Vulnerable – Spirit
In order to be able to access the area where the dragon is you have to complete the main story quest Here Lies the Abyss. Once you do this you’ll have to complete the war table mission Red Templars on the Storm Coast. Once you complete this quest you’ll have access to a little row boat. Row yourself and your party to the little island that’s holding a huge dragon. Follow the path to her lair and take her down.

Sandy Howler
• Level – 20
• Location – Hissing Wastes
• Resistant – Fire
• Vulnerable – Cold
Once you reach the Hissing Wastes head east towards the Tomb of Fairel. Once you’re there you really can’t miss the huge dragon waiting for you.

The Hivernal
• Level – 19
• Location – Emprise du Lion
• Resistant – Cold
• Vulnerable – Fire
Make sure that you complete all of the quests in this area before even thinking about trying to access this dragon. Once you do this head east until you come across a damaged bridge. Complete the war table mission in order to repair the bridge and cross it. Once you cross it you’ll see three coliseum type areas. This dragon will be located on the top of the first one.

The Kaltenzahn
• Level – 21
• Location – Emprise du Lion
• Resistant – Cold
• Vulnerable – Fire
Follow the same steps you took to reach The Hivernal and then continue to head past the first coliseum to the second one. Head up to the roof top to find your dragon.

The Highland Ravager
• Level – 23
• Location – Emprise du Lion
• Resistant – Fire
• Vulnerable – Cold
Once you’re ready to take on this monster of a dragon, follow the same path you took for the other two dragons in this area and head to the last coliseum.

In order to successfully take down all 10 of these dragons I would suggest making sure that you are at least 1-2 levels above each dragon’s level. I know you want to go and take on the dragons as soon as possible, but the more level you have the better equipped you are for battle. I would also suggest keeping a party of 2 mages, 1 warrior, and 1 rogue-archer. The warrior will keep the dragon occupied while your 3 ranged characters can deal most of the damage.

EXTRA: Since there are only three dragons that are vulnerable to fire and the rest are resistant, just use the tacticians renewal charm when battling those three dragons in order to make either Solas or Dorian a fire mage.

Have anything additional to add to my tip? Let me know in the comments section below and I’ll add it in and give you credit. Need help with a specific trophy? I’m always looking for my next weeks tip so throw out some suggestions in the comments section. If I have the trophy I’ll post a tip on how to get it.
