Gaming Goals for the New Year – May 2015 UPDATE

I was expecting this month to be better, but an unexpected battle with tonsillitis made me not even touch my PS4 for a whole week. A whole week! I know, totally unheard of right? Sure, I had my PS Vita, but it’s just not the same. It’s not the same. But anyway, this month wasn’t really all that bad goal wise, so here’s a breakdown of how I did.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 38
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 39
I wasn’t even expecting to get the Borderlands 2 platinum trophy this month since it required two more full playthroughs, but a bunch of free time and not wanting to play anything new before The Witcher 3 came out pushed me to finish up this game and get the platinum trophy for the second time.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 4,816
– Ending # of Trophies: 4,906
Not a bad month trophy wise, a lot of this came from a new episode of Game of Thrones being released as well as starting and finishing Murasaki Baby on the same day. I was also able to get some extra trophies from a full playthrough of The Unfinished Swan as well as the one single trophy that I got from playing The Witcher 3. Finishing up Borderlands 2 completely on the PS4 and getting all of the DLC trophies also helped. Not to mention the boat load of trophies I got from picking up Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare again. I also started Far Cry 4 at the end of the month and picked up a decent amount of trophies in not a lot of time.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 48.73%
– Ending Completion Rate: 48.99%
I had the biggest jump with this number this month due to the fact that I started a lot of games and completely finished them as well as I finished up Borderlands 2 completely, and I uped my percentage for games like Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Pure Pool, and Don’t Starve: Console Edition. I’m so close to that 49% mark. It’s been a struggle, but I’m hoping I can still hit 60% by the end of the year.

Complete 75 games at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 68
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 72
I’m almost at my goal of 75. It’s so close I can taste it at this point. I’m not going to rush it since I still have just about half a year to go in order to reach this goal, but I’m sure I’ll reach it within the next couple of months.

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft and Square Enix games!
– Starting # of Ubisoft and Square Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
– Ending # of Ubisoft and Squre Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
I was so tempted to watch all of the reveal stuff surrounding Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate this month but I stopped myself. Year after year I get suckered into purchasing the next Assassin’s Creed that promises to be the Assassin’s Creed to end all Assassin’s Creed’s, but it just never is and it’s a let down each time even though everything surrounding the game looks awesome. I’ve been avoiding this game like the plague because I seriously don’t want to pre-order it or even purchase it. So far I’m being strong, but you never know.

Now for this upcoming month. After trying desperately to get into The Witcher 3, I just totally gave up for now since I couldn’t get into it. I was so excited about it, but now I just find myself not enjoying it like I do other RPG’s. I never felt the need to constantly play this game and at times I really didn’t even want to. I can’t pinpoint exactly what’s preventing me from getting into this game, but I think it has to do a little bit with having to play a generic character that I didn’t create. I plan on saving The Witcher 3 for a later time and I’ll just try again from the beginning. Now for this month, I’m going to continue to play Far Cry 4 hoping that I’ll have the platinum before The Elder Scrolls Online comes out. I’ll also continue to work my way through Sparkle 2 on PS3 as well as continuing to play Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare here and there. If I have time I might even start a new game.
