Gaming Goals for the New Year 2015 – October 2015 –UPDATE

I really can’t believe that this year is almost over. It seriously seems like yesterday that I first started writing this blog to track my progress as a gamer this year and wow has time flown by. While I might not reach all of my goals this year, I’m happy to report that I will at least reach a couple of them and that I was able to knock a couple of them off my list as of this month. Here’s how I did in October.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 43
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 45
Another two platinum trophies taking me one step closer to my overall goal of 50. While I’m pretty sure I can do it, next month is going to be hard with the release of Fallout 4. I remember the same time last year when I didn’t touch any other game except Dragon Age: Inquisition for just about the whole month and I can see myself doing that with Fallout 4. The only highlight that I’m looking forward to is that the final Game of Thrones episode comes out on the 17th so I can at least take a break from Fallout 4 and finish that game up getting another platinum in the process.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 5,289
– Ending # of Trophies: 5,415
This is going to be a close one. I feel like this amount of trophies should be no problem especially with an influx of games at the end of the year during the holiday sales, but I’m really not sure. Again the fear of Fallout 4 taking up all of my gaming time will be a huge hindrance on getting this number to 6,000 but there are still two full months so I’ll just have to wait and see.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 49.91%
– Ending Completion Rate: 50.14%
I finally hit the 50% mark and while it’s climbing this is one of the goals that I’m pretty sure that it will not reaching 60% by the end of the year. Even though I know I won’t reach this goal, I’m really not upset about it though because I have made some major progress throughout the year and I plan to continue doing so through the rest of the year and next year as well.

Complete 75 games at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 74
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 77
GOAL COMPLETE! It feels really good to be able to say that. I’m pretty sure I’m past the point of where if some DLC comes out for random games that it will bring this number down past 75. This was one of the goals that I really wanted to accomplish this year. Even though I’m a trophy hunter and a completionist, I have a really hard time sometimes just finishing games and I really wanted to get 75 or more of the games that I have at 100% completion.

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft and Square Enix games!
– Starting # of Ubisoft and Square Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
– Ending # of Ubisoft and Squre Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
While I don’t think there are any Ubisoft or Square Enix games coming out before the end of the year, I’m still going to keep this goal open and not stamp it as complete. I passed a major hurdle this month which was not pre-ordering the new Assassin’s Creed even though it was extremely tempting and I plan to stay strong throughout the rest of the year.

I’m feeling pretty good about the month overall. I was able to play a lot of different games and was able to complete a lot as well which of course made me happy. I was able to stamp one goal as complete which was a huge sense of accomplishment. Now for the upcoming month I plan on playing mostly Fallout 4 but I will try to get some other games in as well. I’m looking forward to the final episode of Game of Thrones as well as trying to go back and get some trophies for Broken Age. While I don’t really plan on starting anything new, I will go back and try to clear up some games that are hanging around with only a couple of trophies left on their lists. I’ll let you know how I did next month.
