Gaming Goals for the New Year 2016

Another year has come and gone, I think that when you get older it seems like the time goes by more quickly. It feels like time goes by quickly when you’re young, but I think it actually does when you get older. Anyway, this isn’t that type of blog so I won’t bore you with the passage of time. What you’re really here for is to see what I have planned as my gaming goals for this brand new year. I’m going to really challenge myself this year, and I mean really challenge myself. I know that I didn’t exactly meet all my goals last year, but that only makes me want to try harder this year. So here they are, my gaming goals for 2016.

Have a total of 80 platinum trophies.

I know this number is high and I missed my goal by just a couple platinum trophies last year, but if you keep reading you’ll find out why I’m pushing this number up so high this year. I mean, I could probably even push it up higher, but I’ll just be leaving it at this for right now.

Have a total of 8,500 trophies.

I couldn’t even hit my 6,000 mark last year, but things should be looking up this year. I figure that if I want to meet this goal I’m going to have to average at least 250 trophies a month. I know that it’s doable because I’ve had a couple of months in the past where I had almost 300 trophies, but trying to keep this number consistent is going to be the key of completing this goal by the end of the year.

Have 120 games completed at 100%

Why so high this year? Because last year I completely blew this goal away. With the addition of some extra goals that if you keep reading you’ll be seeing very soon, I’m sure I’ll even surpass this number once more this year.

Have an overall completion rating of 75%

I know I couldn’t even come close to hitting 60 last year, but I’m determined to get this number up to the 75% mark this year and I’m fairly certain that if I keep completing games and get my previous goal complete this number will also skyrocket right to where I want it.

Start and get the platinum trophy or 100% completion on 30 backlogged games

To tell you the truth this isn’t even putting a dent in my backlogged games. There are way more then 30, but I figured this was a start and if I made it one of my goals this year then it would actually help me get through my always growing backlog list. Some of these have platinum trophies and others don’t, but it doesn’t matter I just want to finally play these games and complete them. Here are a list of the games I plan on working on this year:

Only pre-order 5 new games and save the rest for Black Friday and holiday sales.

So last year I vowed never to pre-order from Ubisoft or Squre Enix again, but this year I want to change things up. Too many times this year I pre-ordered a game only to be let down and left without $60 that I could have spent on another game. So this year I’m going to prioritize. I’m only going to pre-order 5 games to get day one. The rest will have to wait until the end of the year. This is probably going to be one of my hardest goals to complete, but I’m really going to try. Besides, I have all those backlogged games right? Right? Anyway, here’s a look at what I plan on pre-ordering.
1. Battleborn (PS4)
2. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (PS4)
3. Mass Effect: Andromeda (PS4)
4. ?????
5. ?????

So what do you guys think? A little ambitious I know, but that’s how I like to do things. While you may or may not have a well thought out list like I do for gaming goals this year, if you have something drop me a line in the comments section and let me know what some of your goals are for this year. As always, happy gaming!
