I’m going to say that although I didn’t quite accomplish as much as I wanted to this month, I was still pretty happy with my progress. At this point though I’m not sure how much of these goals I’m going to get done because when I planned them I was thinking of another year with life not getting in the way, and then everything hits at once and you can’t play video games whenever you want anymore. Welcome back to the adult world. Anyway, here’s the progress that I made this month.
2016 Gaming Goals
Have a total of 80 platinum trophies.
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 51
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 54
Yay platinum trophies this month! It’s been way too long since I seen any of these and they were a welcomed surprise since they weren’t exactly planned and just kinda happened. Not that I’m complaining or anything like that, I’m just glad that I at least made some progress on this goal and can hopefully reach 80 by the end of the year.
Have a total of 8,500 trophies.
– Starting # of Trophies: 5,824
– Ending # of Trophies: 5,915
Not a bad month for trophies and not the best month either but it is what it is. I will say that it was a decent amount since I had some pretty high weeks along with some pretty low weeks so all in all it wasn’t really that bad. Will I hit the, what seems like impossible, 8,500 mark by the end of the year…you’ll have to keep reading each month to find out.
Have 120 games completed at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 86
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 89
This is seriously like the only goal that I never seem to have a problem with. I’m not worried about this number because it always seems to be going up each month, unless of course a game that I’m not playing adds some DLC that I don’t want to buy to it, but other than that this is one of the goals I know will be accomplished.
Have an overall completion rating of 75%
– Starting Completion Rate: 50.84%
– Ending Completion Rate: 51.16%
I’ve been having this problem with starting games lately and not finishing them. I like to think that it’s because of the lack of time which means that I want to try and play as much as possible whenever possible. This basically means that instead of playing games that are already on my system just waiting to be finished, I tend to start a new game and just say screw it. Once I stop doing this I’m sure I can get this number up way higher then this, but at least there was some progress this month
Start and get the platinum trophy or 100% completion on 30 backlogged games
– Starting Number of Backlogged Games Completed (Out of the 30 That Were Listed): 2
– Ending Number of Backlogged Games Completed (Out of the 30 That Were Listed): 2
This number didn’t go anywhere this month as I played a bunch of games that weren’t even on the list and the games that were on the list, I didn’t really get anywhere close to finishing. This goal is going to be one of the toughest that I set for myself this year along with the next goal that I also made no progress on…
Get the platinum trophy or 100% completion on 20 already started backlogged games.
– Starting Number of Backlogged Games Completed (Out of the 20 That Were Listed): 1
– Ending Number of Backlogged Games Completed (Out of the 20 That Were Listed): 1
Yeah…so this goal is also at a standstill as I try to play as much as possible but I just can’t seem to go back and actually get stuff done because it requires time that I would like to spend playing new games. Anyway, when I get a chance to actually sit down and play something there never seems to be enough hours in the day to get this done.
Only pre-order 5 new games and save the rest for Black Friday and holiday sales.
– Starting Number of Pre-Orders: 1
– Ending Number of Pre-Orders: 1
I still only have Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End at the moment, but I will be placing my pre-order for Battleborn any day now as I eagerly await its release. Other than that I’m not even sure I’m going to hit 5 pre-orders this year especially with Mass Effect: Andromeda being pushed back to 2017. Anyone else see this coming? I sure as hell did. Anyway, this gives me some time to debate what I want to pre-order and what I want to wait on.
That was my progress for this month. While some goals I made some actual progress on, others just sat there. I know I’m going to jinx myself by saying this, but I think that next month is going to be a pretty quiet month and I should be able to get some major gaming time in. If and when I can I really want to go back and restart the Mass Effect series. I need a bunch of trophies for the first one, only one trophy for the second one, and a bunch of trophies for the third. I might make this my “Sunday” game which means that I’ll be spending the next couple of Sunday’s playing this game, but as always we’ll see how things go.
