While this wasn’t necessarily a bad month for gaming and gaming goals, it wasn’t all that great either. I felt a little scatter-brained this month as I went through one of those phases where I wanted to play stuff but didn’t know what to play. I also started a couple of games but of course didn’t finish them, it was just one of those months for me. Anyway, here’s an update on the almost impossible goals that I set for myself this year.
2016 Gaming Goals
Have a total of 80 platinum trophies.
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 57
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 58
One more platinum trophy this month as I inch my way slowly towards 60 and then even more slowly towards 80. It’s not an impossible goal but it is a difficult one as I get less and less time to game and I spend less and less time sticking to one game and moving from game to game.
Have a total of 8,500 trophies.
– Starting # of Trophies: 6,021
– Ending # of Trophies: 6,101
I’m way past the 6,000 mark now but nowhere near the 8,500 mark. I doubt I’ll get close but if I can get at least 7,000 trophies this year I’ll be a happy camper. 7,000 doesn’t seem so impossible…does it? Yes, yes it does.
Have 120 games completed at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 93
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 94
Another step closer to this goal that will be complete in the near future. I know for a fact that this number already decreased becauase of the DLC trophies that were added to Minecraft: Story Mode, which really sucks, but it is what it is. Anyway, I’m still confident that this goal will be completed before the year is up.
Have an overall completion rating of 75%
– Starting Completion Rate: 51.79%
– Ending Completion Rate: 51.41%
A huge step back this month…huge, as I started a bunch of games but didn’t get to finish any of them. This number has to be one of the most aggravating things ever in the history of gaming and I hate that I care so much about it. I know being over 50% should be a good thing, but I won’t be happy until I get to 75%. It won’t possibly happen this year, but it has to at some point.
Start and get the platinum trophy or 100% completion on 30 backlogged games

– Ending Number of Backlogged Games Completed (Out of the 30 That Were Listed): 2
This number went absolutely no where again and it really just sucks. I really am trying hard to play these 30 games that I picked out, but stuff keeps getting in the way. I’m going to say that for this upcoming month…I’m going to at least try to play 2 games off of my list and get the platinum trophy for them.

No actual progress to record on this goal either, but I have started playing Mass Effect 2 and the only trophy I need is for the Arrival DLC which is called Last Stand. Once I finish the actual campaign of the game and get to this DLC I have no doubt in my mind that I’ll get this trophy before moving onto Mass Effect 3 and picking up the rest of the DLC trophies that I’m missing.
Only pre-order 5 new games and save the rest for Black Friday and holiday sales.

After Battleborn and Uncharted 4, I really have no idea what else I’ll be pre-ordering this year and so far it looks like nothing. With E3 coming up that could all change especially if some really awesome games are announced for release this year. Either way if I hit 5 or stay under 5 I’ll still consider this goal as complete.
And that was another crazy month down in a year of month’s that have just been crazy. Even though I planned for this to be a huge gaming year, it’s turned out to be something totally different and the thing is I’m not considering that as a bad thing. I have a feeling that June is also going to be pretty crazy as well. Even though I don’t have something huge like MegaCon to go to, I am working on my next tattoo, which that blog will be up shortly, and then there’s this little show that I like to binge watch called Orange is the New Black that comes out so…yeah. Another month of gaming uncertainty, but I’ll let you know how things went.
