I Never Finished…Sonic Unleashed…Because

Sonic Unleashed

Another Blockbuster rental this week and I cringe because this is what seriously ruined me now as a trophy hunter with my completion percent. All of these games that were “tested” and then returned without even really giving a chance has been the bane of my trophy hunting experience. Not only do I look at it in that was though, I also think of these games as missed opportunities. Maybe they were great and I just didn’t give them a chance to show it.

I will tell you that my love for Sonic goes back to the early days of Sega Genesis. I come from a really long line of gamers in my family and while I was still playing with my Nintendo, it was my uncle who introduced me to Sonic the Hedgehog. After playing Sonic and Sonic 2, I was hooked and begged my parents to let me have a Sega Genesis of my own to get in on the greatness of Sonic the Hedgehog. Once my parents finally caved, I played as much Sonic as possible. My favorite was Sonic and Knuckles because it had that little flip top and you could put Sonic 1 and 2 into it and play those games with Knuckles. It was game breaking technology there. I even played the Game Gear version of Sonic. Remember Game Gear? So when I found out that there was a new Sonic game for the PS3 I had to give it a try.

Unfortunately this wasn’t the Sonic that I had grown up on and quickly disliked the game on the pure merit that it ruined my expectations of a Sonic game. As you can see, out of the 51 trophies I got a big fat goose egg. This means that I probably played for a total of 30 minutes before tossing this game aside in hope for something better. How dare they make a Sonic game and not make it like the ones that I remembered oh so well!

Probability of this game getting played again…0 out of 5.

While I don’t mind the other games having a 0 probability chance of me not playing again, I have a major problem with this one. I really want to play this game and try to understand it for what it is. I had a chance to download it at a really cheap price a while ago but the sale totally slipped my mind and it was gone before I could make the purchase. If I could find this game for a decent price I would change this probability to a 5 out of 5, but I don’t think that’s going to happen.

Now it’s your turn. Are you like me and maybe you rented this game from Blockbuster, kept it out a short while, and then returned it because it didn’t meet your very high Sonic expectations? Maybe you played the whole game through and through and even have the platinum trophy for it. Let me know in the comments section below. Now for next week, you’re going to cringe when reading this because it’s sadly another Blockbuster game. I told you there would be a lot of them! I was a huge wrestling fan at the time, huge. I played every game that was available so it’s no surprise that I played but never finished WWE Legends of WrestleMania
