So yeah, January is already over. This makes me groan out load because, I can’t believe the first month of the year is over. So many games, so little time has been the motto of the year so far as it seems like when I want to game I become super busy and then have little to no time to game at all. Anyway, I did work on some of my new goals this year, so as in years past let’s see a breakdown of how the year is going for me so far.
Gaming Goals for 2017
Have a total of 100 platinum trophies.
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 68
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 71
I made some progress on this goal this month and I was pretty happy about it since it was probably the most amount of platinum’s that I’ve gotten in one month in a long time.. Three new platinum trophies were added to my collection and it seems like the 100 isn’t so far off. This month I was able to get platinum trophies for Day of the Tentacle Remastered, Watch Dogs 2, and Catlateral Damage.
Have a total of 8,500 trophies.
– Starting # of Trophies: 6,879
– Ending # of Trophies: 7,078
I’m going to count this as a pretty awesome trophy month as I was able to get 199 trophies. I did hit my milestone 7,000th trophy which was pretty awesome. 7,000 is a long way away from where I was when I had originally started this blog and I can still remember celebrating the day a few years about hitting my 2,000th trophy. For me this was a pretty big deal and I’m feeling that I can reach the 8,500 this year.
Have 150 games completed at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 107
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 110
While this number also went up this month, I’m expecting it to drop by at least one because Watch Dogs 2 is still a new game and I’m expecting some DLC. This game was OK and I have no plan on getting any of the DLC for it as I basically beat it and deleted it. While this number will go down, I’m confident I can get it back up again to hit that 150 this year.
Have an overall completion rating of 75%
– Starting Completion Rate: 52.79%
– Ending Completion Rate: 53.20%
I started this year on a low note then played a bunch of games thinking this would bring my completion rating even further down, but that didn’t happen. My rating went way up past the 53% mark this month and I’ll take that as a win. Hitting the 75% is always going to be a struggle but it’s something that I really strive for because it’s something that I want. It might not happen this year, but it will eventually.
Complete 10 RANDOM games featured in my I Never Finished…Because…blog
– Starting Number of Games Played from I Never Finished…Because: 0
– Ending Number of Games Played from I Never Finished…Because: 0
This one is hard. I want to play my PS3 games that I never finished, especially the God of War ones, but I’m finding a lack of time is a big drawback. I haven’t turned on my PS3 in months, months, and it kind of sucks. I really want to play these games I’m just going to have to try and find time to do so.
Play and complete 20 RANDOM games in my backlog.
– Starting Number of completed games in my backlog: 0
– Ending Number of completed games in my backog: 1
I was able to start and finish Watch Dogs 2 this month which was great because I purchased this game December 25th last year when it was on sale and it qualifies for this category because I had to have purchased the game before January 1st. While this wasn’t a huge stretch or a game that was sitting in my backlog for a long time, it was still something that was there and now it’s not.
Only pre-order 5 new games and save the rest for Black Friday and holiday sales.
– Starting Number of Pre-Orders: 0
– Ending Number of Pre-Orders: 1
This month I only pre-ordered one game and it was For Honor. I’m not sure if I’m going to love or hate this game but I knew that I had to have it day one. That being said, I also for some weird reason have been holding off on pre-ordering Mass Effect: Andromeda. It’s one of my most anticipated games but for some reason I can’t seem to click the pre-order button. It’s weird, but I’ll figure it out. Eventually, because I can’t see myself not having this game day one.
And that was my month. It was pretty exciting and I feel like I got a lot of things done. This is how the beginning of the year always starts though right? I’m sure I’ll have even less time to go back and revisit some old games next month though as I have two day one releases coming in, For Honor and Horizon: Zero Dawn. While those will take up most of my time I’ll still try to make some progression on these goals. I’ll let you know how everything went next month.
I don’t really have any gaming goals for the year. I do want to hit the 1 million view mark before the year is over and at the rate I’m getting views I’ll have it before August :).
You have some nice goals btw.
Thanks!
You’re blog is awesome so I’m sure you’ll have your million views way before August. 🙂
