I Never Finished…Prototype…Because

Prototype

I’m happy to say that the Blockbuster rental games are coming to an end, just a couple more weeks of those actually, before we get into games that there is a specific reason to why I never finished them. It wasn’t because within the first half hour I got bored and returned it, these were now games that I owned. Until then though, just a couple more Blockbuster games like Prototype.

I’m really good with remembering what games are about, the overall plot, the way the game plays out in a whole and everything but this is one of those games where I am just drawing a complete and utter blank on. I can at least tell you why I rented it though. I was looking for an action/adventure type game that was good. It’s hard to believe but I still didn’t find that one game that just amazed me, it’s coming up soon though, just to let you know, and sadly this wasn’t it either. I played this game for no more than an hour before tossing it back into its case and returning it to Blockbuster as another game that I just didn’t like.

I think my whole problem with this game and the games before it is that you actually have to read into the game a little more. These games were no longer plug in and play, explore and learn as you go like games in the past that I was used to. These games had some depth to it and to tell you the truth I just wasn’t ready for it.

As you can see from the picture above this is one of those games that I never got any trophies for and will forever remain on my trophy card at a big fat 0%. To tell you the truth, I used to be ashamed of these games, like it took some credit away from me being a gamer, but now I don’t think of them like that anymore. It just shows that you’re not going to like every single game that you play or even finish them. What counts is that I gave it a try. Did I try hard with this one? No, that’s obvious, but I still adventured out of my comfort zone of gaming and tried something new.

Probability of this game getting played again…0 out of 5.

I don’t own this game, although I do own Prototype 2 thanks to PS+, but I really have no desire to go back and even try to find this game or purchase it to give it another try. There are just so many games, especially this year that I want to play not to mention the games that are sitting in my backlog that I don’t even think I would get a chance to play this game again if I wanted to.

Now it’s your turn. What did you think about this game? Am I missing something huge and innovative by not playing this game? Maybe I was right about it and it’s not great, I do like being right you know. Anyway, let me know in the comments section. Now for next week, a game that I first rented then went out and bought but still never finished it. I’ll let you know now that it’s an RPG and this was way before I got into the whole RPG genre and basically made it my thing. I was still learning the ropes and Fallout: New Vegas was probably not the way to go so I’ll let you know why I never finished it next week.
