Gaming Goals for the New Year – February 2017 – UPDATE

The posting of this blog means that yes indeed another month has just gone right on by. Even though I was a good gamer and worked on my goals this past month, not a lot happened because I was basically out of commission for a little while due to the flu. I know, I know, excuses, excuse, but seriously even with all of that I was still pretty pleased with the progress that I made. So let’s see how I did with my goals.

Gaming Goals for 2017

Have a total of 100 platinum trophies.

– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 71
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 74
I’ve been pretty happy with my platinum trophy progress so far this year. Last month I was able to get 3, this month I was able to get 3. It’s not bad seeing that I don’t have all the time in the world anymore to work on getting platinum trophies. Still, it’s an improvement from getting nothing. Hopefully I can keep going at this rate.

Have a total of 8,500 trophies.

– Starting # of Trophies: 7,078
– Ending # of Trophies: 7,215
While I didn’t get the amount of trophies that I did last month, I still went over the 100 mark and that’s good enough for me. I do have to say though that I miss those days of being able to easily go over the 200 mark and almost reach the 300 mark when it comes to trophies for the month.

Have 150 games completed at 100%

– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 110
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 111
Guess what got DLC this past month? That’s right, Watch Dogs 2 meaning that this number went down, but then went up as I did complete some games to 100%. While I really completed 2 games to 100% only one gets added to my total as one was taken away from me. It’s ok though because 150 is right around the corner.

Have an overall completion rating of 75%

– Starting Completion Rate: 53.20%
– Ending Completion Rate: 53.44%
I really thought this number was going to be destroyed this month and the progress that I made just vanish into thin air. Mostly because I started a bunch of random games after being sick and then was like, “well there goes my completion.” Luckily though a lot of the games I started I was able to actually play and progress in them making this number actually go up which makes me very happy.

Complete 10 RANDOM games featured in my I Never Finished…Because…blog

– Starting Number of Games Played from I Never Finished…Because: 0
– Ending Number of Games Played from I Never Finished…Because: 0
I really didn’t think this one would be that hard, but I’m seeing that it’s probably my hardest goal yet. The only time I turned on my PS3 in the past month was to make sure it still worked because it’s been that long since I turned it on. Even though I set my goal real low, it feels like I set it to 100 instead of 10.

Play and complete 20 RANDOM games in my backlog.

– Starting Number of completed games in my backlog: 1
– Ending Number of completed games in my backog: 2
I was able to start and finish LEGO Jurassic World this month which I bought during one of the holiday sales last year. Totally meets my requirement for this goal and at least now two games are out of my backlog. Sure there are a bunch more, but two is a hell of a lot of progress. This month will be tricky though as I stick to mostly new games that are being released, but you never know.

Only pre-order 5 new games and save the rest for Black Friday and holiday sales.

– Starting Number of Pre-Orders: 1
– Ending Number of Pre-Orders: 2
This past month I finally pre-ordered Mass Effect: Andromeda. It was a given that it was going to happen but I was really dragging my feet on it and then some of the trailers just blew me away and I became super excited and wondered why the hell I didn’t pre-order this game yet. There are only three more pre-orders left I my spot and I’m not sure what’s going to be filling them especially since some release dates keep changing. If I hit 5 then great, if I go below 5 even better.

That was February. A pretty good month even though I was a little side tracked. This upcoming month is going to be difficult. I still want to play For Honor, which I’ve been playing like crazy along with Horizon: Zero Dawn and Mass Effect: Andromeda. I’m not even sure my PS4 can fit those three games at once, but hopefully it can. As always I’ll let you know my progress on these goals next month.
