While there are a few games that I give up with within the first 30 minutes, this one takes the cake. At the time I was just getting into RPG’s and I just stumbled across this one. The premise looked interesting enough and I had nothing better to do with my time so I figured I would give this one a try. Keep reading to see why, although you probably already know why, I never finished this game.
I really wish I could tell you from my own personal experience what this game was about but I have no idea. I remember creating my character, which of course took some time. Ever notice how when you can create your own character you always spend a bunch of time doing this? I don’t know, but sometimes I can spend anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour trying to create my characters for the RPGs that I play. Moving on though, I created my character, moved onto the tutorial and then that was it.
As you can probably tell, I didn’t even finish the tutorial for this game because I died. A lot. I died over and over and over again until I just couldn’t take it anymore. I immediately got frustrated with this game, one usually does when you die that many times in the tutorial, and stuck it in my blockbuster return envelope and tossed it into the mail box. Anyone remember when Blockbuster had their own mail service to compete with Netflix in a last ditch attempt to save the company? Probably not.
Surprise, surprise I didn’t get any trophies for this game. Too bad there wasn’t a trophy for dying a bunch of times in the tutorial because I totally would have gotten that trophy.
Probability of this game getting played again…0 out of 5.
I have this game downloaded on my PS3 because it was free thanks to PS+ one month, but I really have no intention of ever playing this game again. I want to say that maybe I should give it another try, but really why would I do that? If I didn’t make it past the tutorial the first time I played why would this be any different? So while I keep this game on my system, I look at it from time to time and kind of sigh knowing that this is probably the one game that I can never play again.
Now it’s your turn because I know there are a bunch of Demon’s Souls fans out there. Why do you love this game so much, what am I missing? How do you prevent dying in the tutorial over and over again and just get on with the story? Maybe you’re on the opposite side and completely hate this game. Let me know in the comments section and now next week my first online game. The thing is I had just hooked up my PS3 to the internet to get some DLC and stuff and because I finally came up with a name that I thought I would love forever. So, I figured why not start playing the multiplayer on some of the games that I missed out on. The first game on my list? Red Dead Redemption. I’ll let you know next week why I never finished this game.
Oh I know the feeling. My friends loved Demon and Dark Souls 1-2 and I got this for about £4 on a sale but it just didn’t click. I just didn’t get into it, which is a shame as I love very hard games. Another World and Metroid Prime 2 spring to mind but these games just don’t do it for me.
I don’t mind difficult games, but this just takes it to a new level.
