Another free PS+ game this week because I was still horribly unemployed. There was a catch though because I had decided that I was going to go back to school and get another degree because one wasn’t enough and it wasn’t helping me on my quest for a job. Anyway, this was going to be my summer of fun because I had all these free games before I got really serious and went back to school where I would have no time for gaming. Anyway, Outland was one of those games and I never did finish it.
I played this game for such a short period of time that I have no idea what this game is about. I hate leaving this section blank though, so here’s what I learned about the game. Outland is about a man, played by the player, who has been experiencing visions of the past. No modern medical can cure him so he goes to a shaman who tells him about the Sisters of Chaos and the hero that banished them. Long story short, the Sisters of Chaos are on the lose again and you are the reincarnation of the hero who banished them. It’s your job to stop the Sisters of Chaos again.
On paper this game sounds great, amazing even. Like it could be this epic journey and maybe a little bit like God of War in a way. Anyway, it’s not. I spent the first fifteen minutes trying to figure out what the hell I had to do in this game. Another fifteen minutes, because I wasn’t going to give up that easy, and then I got an invitation for Mass Effect 3 multiplayer and said “screw it.” After that I never went back to the game because I figured that if I couldn’t get the game in half an hour, no amount of time that I spent after that was going to allow me to get the game and enjoy it.
As you can see from the picture above this game is a stain on my PSN profile as I have 0 out of the 12 trophies there are for this game. I hate these games with the 0 trophies and I know I can delete them, but I feel like that’s sort of cheating so I don’t. I just cringe every time I pass one by.
Probability of this game getting played again…0 out of 5.
Suprisingly, this game is still on my PS3 which is even more surprising is that I actually turned on my PS3 in the past few weeks. I didn’t play anything, I just watched Netflix, but it still worked! Anyway, even though this game is still on my system, I have no intention of ever playing this game again. Ever. I just wanted to forget about this game and act like I never even tried to play it in the first place.
Now it’s your turn. Do you even know about this game? Get it because it was free on PS+? Love it? Hate it? Let me know in the comments section below. Now for next week a game that I genuinely enjoyed but still never finished it. I have to tell you that at this time I was on a kick to get the games that I had on disc finished with the platinum trophy in alphabetical order. Crazy idea right? Totally didn’t work out but I thought it would. I had already gotten the Assassin’s Creed 2 platinum trophy so I started playing Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Of course I never did finish it and I’ll let you know why next week.
