Gaming Goals for the New Year – February 2018 – UPDATE

This year is just flying by and I can’t believe another month is over. This month has basically been a pretty crappy month for me that was plagued with a bunch of different issues so I didn’t even get to game as much as I wanted. Accomplishing my goals is looking bleak now as it gets further into the year and my schedule looks even more packed than ever. It’s good though to be busy, I just wish I was busy gaming. Anyway, here’s a breakdown of where I stand with my goals for this year.

Gaming Goals for 2018

Have a total of 125 platinum trophies.

– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 86
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 87
Even though I was only able to get one platinum trophy this month, I wasn’t too upset about it because it was a platinum trophy that took me 7 whole months to get. It was a pretty big one too since it was Diablo III: Reaper of Souls which is a pretty awesome platinum trophy to have. I’m not complaining here as I know I’ll probably be able to add a few Telltale platinum trophies to this list before the year is up.

Have a total of 10,000 trophies.

– Starting # of Trophies: 8,145
– Ending # of Trophies: 8,196
So yeah…this number is really depressing. By this time I’ll be lucky if I have 8,500 by the time the year is up unless I can find a bunch of really easy games to play. Anyway, this goal is looking pretty bleak since I can’t even get 100 trophies in a month. What the hell is up with that? I hate being an adult.

Have 175 games completed at 100%

– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 131
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 132
So this number only went up by one because even though I got the platinum trophy for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, I didn’t purchase or complete the DLC for this game and it doesn’t count as a 100% game. That kind of sucks since I put a lot of hard work in it, but at least one is better than none.

Have an overall completion rating of 75%

– Starting Completion Rate: 54.48%
– Ending Completion Rate: 54.55%
This number went up this month. Yay! It also went up by a decent amount so double Yay! If I can keep this up, I’m pretty sure I can hit at least 60% by the end of the year unless I just have this huge meltdown and play a bunch of games without finishing them which has been known to happen from time to time.

Start and Complete 10 new games that are not in my backlog

– Starting Number of New Games Played and Completed: 1
– Starting Number of New Games Played and Completed: 1
I didn’t make any new purchases this month, which is kind of a good thing so this number didn’t change. It’ll probably change next month when Far Cry 5 comes in and if I can actually finish it or not. Only time will tell, but 10 isn’t that many games. Right?

Play and complete 25 RANDOM games in my backlog

– Starting Number of completed games in my backlog: 2
– Ending Number of completed games in my backlog: 4
This number went up by two this month. Two whole games. I started and completed Wheel of Fortune, which game with my Jeopardy game and finally finished Diablo III: Reaper of Souls which has been sitting in my backlog for years collecting dust. So far so good with this goal and I’m pretty happy that 4 games are now out of my backlog.

Only pre-order 10 new games and save the rest for Black Friday and holiday sales

– Starting Number of Pre-Orders: 1
– Ending Number of Pre-Orders: 2
Again another month of just pre-ordering one game as I pre-ordered Far Cry 5. Either I’m pretty proud of myself for this or this year is just looking a little bleak gaming wise. Anyway, it looks like I have a bunch of room left over for pre-orders.

And that was my really shitty month of trying to complete the goals that I set for myself at the beginning of the year. How will the rest of the year look? I have no idea, but hopefully better than this month. For the upcoming month, I’m still trying to work on finishing up some games here and there and I’ll be playing Far Cry 5. I’ll let you know once again how my goals progress next month.

  1. Haha I hear you about how much it sucks to be an adult. Why couldn’t sega and Nintendo consoles have had trophies and achieves back in the days of just school lol
