Another month is just gone and I am further away from reaching my goals then I would like to admit. March was a pretty bad month for gaming because I had to be an adult most of the time. While I do like making these goals up, I need to set them up as more adult type goals instead of putting insane amounts on trophy counts and platinum trophy counts. Anyway, here’s a breakdown of how my goals for the year are progressing.
Gaming Goals for 2018
Have a total of 125 platinum trophies.
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 87
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 88
Another month with just one platinum trophy and it was for Batman: The Enemy Within. This one came in close as I got it on the last day of the month. I wish I had gotten more platinum trophies, but it didn’t happen. The 125 goal is looking like it will barely reach 100. I’ll be lucky if I can hit 90 platinum trophies by the end of the year.
Have a total of 10,000 trophies.
– Starting # of Trophies: 8,196
– Ending # of Trophies: 8,264
Another month that I couldn’t even hit 100 trophies. This is just pissing me off now because I remember those months where I would go way past 100 and even break 200 trophies. I wasn’t even close this month and I’m hoping that April will be better since I’m still going to be playing Far Cry 5 and I’ll also be playing the new God of War. Other than that I just need to up my game when it comes to getting trophies.
Have 175 games completed at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 132
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 133
This number went up by one again this month and even though I’m not really OK with that, I just have to deal with it. Will I hit the 175 as planned? That’s basically laughable and I’ll be lucky to hit 145 by the years end. Anyway, as always I will power on though and try to complete as many games as possible until the end of the year.
Have an overall completion rating of 75%
– Starting Completion Rate: 54.55%
– Ending Completion Rate: 54.69 %
Finally something that went right this month. This number ticked up by a lot as I worked on trying to complete some games that were old and just sitting there as well as some new ones that were just sitting there. I was a little worried about this number since I did start Far Cry 5 basically at the end of the month, but as long as this number continues to go up, I’m a happy gamer.

I made one new purchase this month that I’m currently working on and it’s Far Cry 5. I’m looking forward to completing this game hopefully before God of War comes out, if not, I’m pretty sure I can finish it during the same time that I play God of War. I’m ok with this number still being at one because ten really isn’t that far away.
Play and complete 25 RANDOM games in my backlog
– Starting Number of completed games in my backlog: 4
– Ending Number of completed games in my backlog: 5
I’m counting Batman: The Enemy Within as part of my backlog since I did purchase it last year. It’s not my fault that Telltale has the release schedule that it does and forces me to wait and play games. Anyway, just to give me some confidence this game will be counted which means I only have 20 more games in my backlog to complete to finish this goal for the year.
Only pre-order 10 new games and save the rest for Black Friday and holiday sales
– Starting Number of Pre-Orders: 2
– Ending Number of Pre-Orders: 3
The only game that I pre-ordered this month was Detroit: Become Human because I just can’t miss that game. It looks amazing and I really can’t wait to play it. I have to say that I’m pretty proud of myself when it comes to the pre-orders because so far I’ve been doing really good. I think I can continue like this for the rest of the year and complete this goal.
And that was my month. The month of an adult who basically games on the side now. Did I really just say that? When did I get this old? Anyway, I am making some progress on my goals, I’m trying to be optimistic, and will hopefully continue to do so. As always, I’ll give you another update about how my April went next month.

You are making progress. I hope this month is better for you with regard to your goals but you are still making progress.
My gaming goals for this year probably won’t happen completely but I have tried (and will keep trying right up until the end of the year!) and regardless I have made progress to those goals.
This month so far has been a rough one. Not sure how my goals are going to progress, but I’m going to stay positive about it. Or at least try to stay positive.
Glad to hear I’m not the only one with gaming goals. What you say is also true, no matter what even if you don’t completely accomplish your goals you still made some progress.
