This game kind of came out during the I finally found a somewhat decent job but was still in my pretty much broke phase of my life so needless to say, I couldn’t afford the $60 copy of this game. I wanted this game so badly though and when I received a coupon in the mail from Best Buy for it, it felt heaven sent. Remember when Best Buy used to treat gamers nicely like that by giving them discounts and coupons before ending all of their discount programs without even giving notice that those programs were ending? Yeah, thanks Best Buy. Anyway, with coupon in hand I drove to my nearest Best Buy and purchased this game. Little did I know that it would end up on this list.
In Metro: Last Light, a sequel to Metro 2033, you play as Artyom in post-apocalyptic Moscow. You also play most of this game through the Metro system. If you got that from the title then kudos to you, if not then you can feel as stupid as I did once I had my ah-ha moment during the game. Anyway, Artyom is part of The Rangers. The Rangers are a peace keeping type of operation that Artyom has joined after the first game. Throughout the game he’ll have a series of flashbacks at sometimes the most inconvenient of times while he tries to find the Dark One. Thinking that he eliminated all of the Dark Ones in the previous game, it’s his mission this time around to find the final Dark One and end them once and for all.
This game relies really heavily that you played the first game. Going in I had no idea about the first game, and no idea about what the hell was going on. This put a real damper on a game that when I was into it, I was really into it. I think that if I would have played the first game, I would have had a better understanding of this current game and would have had a better time playing. This is one of those games that I didn’t even finish the whole story of the game. It wasn’t even for lack of interest at the time either. It was mostly because I had started working and who the hell knew that it was going to take up so much time that I had devoted to gaming? So this game basically fell victim to the fact that as an adult you have to work for a living in order to be able to buy more games.
As you can see from the picture above, I was able to get a total of 12 out of 51 trophies for this game, 71 total if you count the DLC. The trophies that I got were all completely random. Some were story related and some were not. It’s just a mixture of both so I’m basically missing a bunch of story related mission trophies and a bunch of other random trophies.
Probability of this game getting played again…2 out of 5.
As much as I would like to play this game again. I feel like it’s going to fall victim to the first reason why I never finished it again if I try. If I do play this game again though I’m not even sure it’s going to be the PS3 version. I might just go and get myself the PS4 version. I’m not completely sure at the moment which is why this ranks so low on my list.
Now it’s your turn. Did you love this game? Hate it? Play Metro 2033? Let me know down in the comments section below. Now for next week a mistake of a game. I call it a mistake because it was a free PS+ game that I should have never started in the first place and paid for it dearly by it ending up on this list. So, next week I’ll let you know why I never finished ibb & obb.
BIG NEWS! Now for some big news. This is around the time that I made my transition from solely playing on the PS3 to playing on both the PS3 and the PS4, so any game that I never finished on the PS4 will come with an accompanying video that I’ll be posting on YouTube weekly. I’m still not really sure of the format and I have a few more weeks before this will take place, but I’m pretty excited to be able to bring some more video’s to YouTube!
