As I said last week, I was still on this Call of Duty high after playing Ghosts, which you can read about why I never finished that game here, so I went out and bought this game. To be honest with you, when I bought this game I didn’t think I would ever finish it anyway so the fact that it’s on this list really doesn’t surprise me. But let’s get into the reason why I never finished it.
Taking place in two different time periods, in Black Ops II, you’ll play as Alex Mason, main character from the original Black ops, during the Cold War and then Alex’s son, David, during the future segments of the Second Cold War. Confused? I was. Anyway, a lot of things can happen during this game and they depend on whether or not you complete the strike missions that are available throughout the course of the game. There is also the multiplayer for this game, with the most popular being the zombies mode.
So why did I not finish this game. So many reasons. While I finished the main campaign of the game, I really didn’t understand it that well. I didn’t understand the significance of it, or why what was going on was going on. Probably because I didn’t play the original Black Ops. This was one of those games where I didn’t think I had to play the original and thought it would just stand on it’s own. I also really didn’t get the strike missions and had no idea what I was supposed to be doing. And then the multiplayer. I didn’t even touch the multiplayer for this game because of the experience I had in Ghosts. So, there you have it. That’s why I never finished this game.
As you can see from the trophy picture all the way at the top of the screen, I was able to get 20 out of the base 51 trophies. Not bad if you don’t count the DLC. If you count the DLC I was only able to get 20 out of a possible 91 trophies. That makes me sound like a huge failure then. Anyway, I got the most basic of trophies and that was about it. I did get a few random trophies and I’m missing all of the multiplayer trophies as well as some other random trophies throughout the rest of the game.
Probability of this game getting played again…0 out of 5.
I still have this game, I like to keep all the game that I don’t finish as a just in case, but I really can’t see myself playing this game. I also heard that the multiplayer can be hacked and make all of your trophies pop. That would ruin my score on PSNProfiles.com and it would mean that I would have to hide this game from my list and I don’t feel like doing that. So this is just one of those games that I will not be going back to any time soon or at all.
Now it’s your turn. Did you love this game? You loved this game, didn’t you? Did you hate it? Let me know down in the comments section and for next week, I actually went through a few weeks of finishing games so it was a while before my next game that I didn’t finish as I went on a PS Vita / PS4 kick. Anyway, my next game that I never finished was for the PS Vita and it’s Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational. I’m not sure why I never finished it so I’ll have to think about that one.
