Gaming Goals for the New Year – December 2015 – FINAL

This is the end of the year and the start of the new one, and now it’s time to see if I was able to complete the goals that I set for myself for 2015. I can tell you right now that I didn’t complete a lot of them, I did come close to the majority of them, but they weren’t complete. While this is upsetting, I did make a lot of gaming progress this year and I had a lot of fun doing so which was the main point of this whole thing. Let’s take one last final look at my gaming goals as we say goodbye to 2015 and hello to 2016.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year – FAILED
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 47
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 48
So I didn’t make it to 50, but you have to admit I was pretty damn close. I’m pretty impressed with myself though since I did start the year out with 33 platinum trophies and was able to add another 15 to my collection this year.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies – FAILED
– Starting # of Trophies: 5,473
– Ending # of Trophies: 5,616
I did have a couple of hiccups this year when it came to getting trophies and gaming in general since there were times that life got in the way and I just couldn’t play, but I did make some progress on this goal since I started the year off at 4,498 trophies. So I was at least able to get well over 1,000 trophies this year which was really no small accomplishment.

Have a total completion rate of 60% – FAILED
– Starting Completion Rate: 50.06%
– Ending Completion Rate: 50.62%
This was one of those goals that was way out there and I thought that I could maybe come close, like 59% close, but I couldn’t even make it that far. Starting new games and not finishing them was my overall downfall as I really didn’t even make all that much progress on this goal throughout the year since I started at 47.17%.

Yes! One goal complete. It’s not a lot but it’s something after seeing failure after failure. I was even able to get over the number that I had set for myself which makes me do a little happy dance inside especially since I started the year off with only 60 games at 100%.

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft and Square Enix games! – GOAL COMPLETE
– Starting # of Ubisoft and Square Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
– Ending # of Ubisoft and Squre Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
I did it! I made it through the whole year without pre-ordering any games from these companies. Yes I bought them later on during the year (on really great sales), but that wasn’t the point. The whole point was to not pre-order games that were mediocre or filled with bugs and glitches from these companies only to be fixed later on when I had already moved on.

While I was only able to complete 2 out of the 5 goals that I set forth for myself last year, I really had a lot of fun tracking my progress and reporting in at the end of the month. I have a whole other set of goals that I set for myself for this new year and I’ll be debuting them tomorrow. I will give you a little sneak peek and let you know that these goals will be a hell of a lot harder and involve a lot more gaming. Will I be able to get any of them done? Honestly I have no idea, but I’m looking forward to a whole new year of gaming.

Gaming Goals for the New Year – November 2015 –UPDATE

So, I’m not going to lie. This month has been pretty shitty for me and it’s not just because I’ve basically been playing Fallout 4 the whole month. Some personal things kept me away from gaming a little, which always sucks, but I do feel that I’m back on track now and even though this month may not have been so great, next month just might. Anyway, here’s my progress on my goals.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 45
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 47
Thank you Game of Thrones, for one finally ending and two giving me my well-deserved platinum trophy. I mean come on right? I was also extremely happy to finally finish Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune right on the last day of the month. Anyway, I was happy to at least get two platinum trophies this month meaning I only need 3 more before December 31st. Will I get them all? I don’t know, but I’m pretty damn close.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 5,415
– Ending # of Trophies: 5,473
I’m getting really close to at least having 5,500 trophies. Getting another 500+ in one month is a huge, and I mean really huge, stretch but weirder things have happened. If I get close to 6,000…like 5,750 I’ll be ok with it. I am looking forward to my milestone 5,500 trophy though and for this one I’m not going to plan it. I’m just going to see which trophy just pops and hopefully it isn’t something crappy.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 50.14%
– Ending Completion Rate: 50.06%
So…yeah I started two new games right before the month was over. Really smart. Really really smart. If I can just keep this number up past 50% by the time the year ends, I’ll be happy because I made a bunch of progress this year and it was no small accomplishment.

Complete 75 games at 100% – GOAL COMPLETE
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 77
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 79
Even though this goal is complete, I figured I would continue to track it because why the hell not. Also, I want to see how many games I can get past my actual goal. Right now I’m sitting pretty at 4 extra games at 100% complete and I’m hoping that number will go up. Maybe I’ll hit 80-85 by the end of the year and maybe I won’t, but at least I got one goal done.

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft and Square Enix games!

So, I totally stayed strong and did not, I repeat did not pre-order Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate. I did pick up the game on a Black Friday sale, but the point was to not pre-order it which I did not. I’m pretty sure I’m not going to be pre-ordering anything next month, but I’m not going to call complete on this goal until the end of the year.

That was everything this month. I do hate that some personal stuff got in the way of my gaming, but that’s life. It feels good to be back in my so-called normal gaming schedule. Now for the final month of the year, I really can’t believe that I’m actually saying that, but I’m going to try and get the platinum on Fallout 4. I’m pretty close and I think with some hard work it can be done. Other than that, I’m going to try to play some games that I picked up during the Black Friday sales as well as try to finish some other games I have hanging around waiting for me to finish playing them. I also have to start planning my goals for 2016. I kinda know what some of them are, but I might throw in some extra making 2016 even more challenging then this year.

Gaming Goals for the New Year 2015 – October 2015 –UPDATE

I really can’t believe that this year is almost over. It seriously seems like yesterday that I first started writing this blog to track my progress as a gamer this year and wow has time flown by. While I might not reach all of my goals this year, I’m happy to report that I will at least reach a couple of them and that I was able to knock a couple of them off my list as of this month. Here’s how I did in October.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 43
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 45
Another two platinum trophies taking me one step closer to my overall goal of 50. While I’m pretty sure I can do it, next month is going to be hard with the release of Fallout 4. I remember the same time last year when I didn’t touch any other game except Dragon Age: Inquisition for just about the whole month and I can see myself doing that with Fallout 4. The only highlight that I’m looking forward to is that the final Game of Thrones episode comes out on the 17th so I can at least take a break from Fallout 4 and finish that game up getting another platinum in the process.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 5,289
– Ending # of Trophies: 5,415
This is going to be a close one. I feel like this amount of trophies should be no problem especially with an influx of games at the end of the year during the holiday sales, but I’m really not sure. Again the fear of Fallout 4 taking up all of my gaming time will be a huge hindrance on getting this number to 6,000 but there are still two full months so I’ll just have to wait and see.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 49.91%
– Ending Completion Rate: 50.14%
I finally hit the 50% mark and while it’s climbing this is one of the goals that I’m pretty sure that it will not reaching 60% by the end of the year. Even though I know I won’t reach this goal, I’m really not upset about it though because I have made some major progress throughout the year and I plan to continue doing so through the rest of the year and next year as well.

Complete 75 games at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 74
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 77
GOAL COMPLETE! It feels really good to be able to say that. I’m pretty sure I’m past the point of where if some DLC comes out for random games that it will bring this number down past 75. This was one of the goals that I really wanted to accomplish this year. Even though I’m a trophy hunter and a completionist, I have a really hard time sometimes just finishing games and I really wanted to get 75 or more of the games that I have at 100% completion.

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft and Square Enix games!
– Starting # of Ubisoft and Square Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
– Ending # of Ubisoft and Squre Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
While I don’t think there are any Ubisoft or Square Enix games coming out before the end of the year, I’m still going to keep this goal open and not stamp it as complete. I passed a major hurdle this month which was not pre-ordering the new Assassin’s Creed even though it was extremely tempting and I plan to stay strong throughout the rest of the year.

I’m feeling pretty good about the month overall. I was able to play a lot of different games and was able to complete a lot as well which of course made me happy. I was able to stamp one goal as complete which was a huge sense of accomplishment. Now for the upcoming month I plan on playing mostly Fallout 4 but I will try to get some other games in as well. I’m looking forward to the final episode of Game of Thrones as well as trying to go back and get some trophies for Broken Age. While I don’t really plan on starting anything new, I will go back and try to clear up some games that are hanging around with only a couple of trophies left on their lists. I’ll let you know how I did next month.

Gaming Goals for the New Year 2015 – September 2015 – UPDATE

Another month has come and gone taking me one step closer to reaching my goals for the year. While I’m just starting to see what goals I’ll be setting for myself next year, I found myself fighting an uphill battle this month as some older games got some new DLC released for them and I struggle to find games that I want to get the Platinum trophy on. Here’s how I did this month.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 42
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 43
I feel like I played a bunch of games this month but didn’t really get anywhere. It’s been a weird month of trying to be an adult and be a gamer at the same time which is usually very conflicting. Anyway, I at least made some contribution to my Platinum trophy goal with the addition of Grim Fandango Remastered. I’m still not sure what the other Platinums are going to be but I’m hoping I can get them before the end of December.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 5,165
– Ending # of Trophies: 5,289
I seen a really big jump in this number this month and it’s probably because I started two new games and almost completed both of them. The 6,000 mark is still a long way to go though so here’s hoping that I’ll be able to reach it as the months dwindle down.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 49.72%
– Ending Completion Rate: 49.91%
Another pretty big jump this month making me think that maybe, just maybe I can hit 60% before the end of the year. I have this really bad habit of starting new games when I know I can go back and complete some old ones. It’s just that I get this itch to where I have to play something new and I’m not happy until I do. If I could just go back and finish up some games then I’m sure this number would be no problem.

Complete 75 games at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 74
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 74
Damn you again DLC! Ugh, I would have totally had the 75 games at 100% completion this month if it weren’t for the DLC. Even though I purchased the last DLC installment for Dragon Age: Inquisition and started playing again, I’m still working on these new “trials.” Once I have those squared away I should get my 100% completion back on that game again. If worst comes to worst then I’ll go back and grab a few trophies that I’m missing on Borderlands 2 for the PS3 to reach my goal even though I should probably do it anyway just to finish it up. It looks weird that I have 100% complete on my PS4 version but not the PS3.

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft and Square Enix games!
– Starting # of Ubisoft and Square Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
– Ending # of Ubisoft and Squre Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
I’ve actually been doing really good with this goal because not only have I not pre-ordered anything from these companies, I haven’t pre-ordered anything at all except of course Fallout 4. I just need that game on release day, there’s no way around it. Anyway, I think that overall this is a good thing because it’s saving me money that I can use at the end of the year to totally binge buy a bunch of games during the holiday season.

That was everything for this month and I’m feeling ok about it. Not good or great, just ok. I think when I finally accomplish one of these goals I’ll start to feel a little better about it. Now for the upcoming month, I would like to get the platinum on Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, play a couple of smaller games on my PS3 to clear up my system memory, maybe play Farming Simulator on the PS Vita, start a new PS4 game, and probably get back into playing The Elder Scrolls Online since a friend asked me to.

Gaming Goals for the New Year – August 2015 – UPDATE

I really don’t know what to say about August. It was one of those weird months for me where instead of just sticking to one single game I just played a bunch of games. Some of them were old ones that were sitting on my shelf and others were brand new games that I’ve never played before. Some games just required a little clean up and some games I got sucked back into because I had this need to finish them. Overall it wasn’t a bad month goal wise, so here’s how the month played out for me.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 41
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 42
One more step closer to my goal and only another 8 platinum trophies to go before the end of the year. I’m pretty sure I can knock out a few of them within the next couple of months, but reaching the 50 might give me some trouble. Telltale’s Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands are a definite, but it’s all a time based thing really which is why I’m hoping the last episodes for each will come out soon.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 5,078
– Ending # of Trophies: 5,165
At this point, the 6,000 trophies is seeming like a little bit of a stretch. I’m not giving up hope just yet, but it’s just one of those things that I can see being off by a couple of hundred trophies at the most. I had a pretty eventful month of trophies which wasn’t all that bad, but I feel like it just still wasn’t enough to help me reach my goal.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 49.47%
– Ending Completion Rate: 49.72%
I stopped myself from starting a new game so close to the end of the month and it paid off. This was a pretty big jump and it shows that if I work on my backlog a little bit more, especially the games that are already active on my trophy log, I can get this number up to my goal by the end of the year. In the coming months it’s going to be very hard, but I’m not giving up hope yet.

Oh DLC how I hate you sometimes. You take my 100% in a game and turn it into something less. Why do you do this to me? Why? Anyway, with the impending final episodes of Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands along with whatever else I’m playing, I’m sure this number will go past the 75 that I wanted making me a happy gamer.

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft and Square Enix games!
– Starting # of Ubisoft and Square Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0

The one constant I can look forward to each and every month. Not pre-ordering games from these companies. I can do a little happy dance of accomplishment for another month as I resist temptation.

For me August was a little bit of a let down. I didn’t finish Borderlands: The Handsome Collection – Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel because frankly, as much as I love the series, I just got a little bored with it. On the plus side though I did finish up a game that was sitting in my backlog, and I got to have a whole new experience in Fallout 3, not to mention I even went back and started playing some Vita games again. Now for September, my plan is continue with Fallout 3, continuing playing some Vita games, start Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune (with trophies), and start a backlogged PS4 game. Exciting stuff, check back next month to see if I was able to get any of this done.

Gaming Goals for the New Year – July 2015 – UPDATE

Another month, another step towards accomplishing this years gaming goals. Looking back at this past month, I have to say that even though I struggled some weeks, I only got three trophies one week, there were others that just shined and really helped me progress with my goals overall. With half the year already gone and only a few more months to go, I’m pretty happy with where I stand at the moment. Here’s how my month played out.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 40
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 41
A platinum trophy close to the end of the month was my saving grace for me this month and it was totally unexpected even though I was secretly hoping for it. With 9 more to go in order to reach my goal, I’m having a little trouble deciding what 9 games will make the list before the end of the year. I already know that I’ll be getting the platinum for Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands, but I’m at the point where I’m not really sure what else there will be. I’m sure I’ll figure something out though. I might start a couple of new games or go back and complete some games that need completing.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 5,004
– Ending # of Trophies: 5,078
I know it’s kinda getting close to the end of the year and that 6,000 mark is looking like it’s further away then I originally thought but I’m still thinking that I can get it done before the end of the year. Playing this months free PS+ game, Rocket League, really helped out this month because those were some easy trophies and I got most of them in the matter of a week. Progressing in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel also helped along with a little help from Fallout 3 and a couple of other games that I played.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 49.33%
– Ending Completion Rate: 49.47%
I swear this number was higher before this month’s update! It was almost at that 50% mark giving me hope that maybe just maybe I could hit 60% before the year was up, but I have this really bad habit of starting games towards the end of the month making this number just drop way back down again. This makes any progress that I make during the month go away, but I’m not giving up hope yet.

Thanks Scrabble and Rocket League for making me get one step closer to my goal this month. I would have reached my goal this month if Never Alone didn’t add DLC and take away from my 100% complete number. Thanks Never Alone since I don’t plan on playing the DLC. Not to mention that my last trophy for Sparkle 2 on the PS3 didn’t pop meaning I have to start all over again to try and get the trophy. Thanks Sparkle 2!

I’ve been going through some serious doubts with this goal. I mean I know I’ll probably be let down but Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is looking really good! To keep myself on track with this goal I have promised myself that if I stay strong and not pre-order anything from these companies, I can pick up Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate at a discount during the holiday time. Just a couple of more months of staying strong.

That was it for July and for August I would really like to finish Borderlands: The Handsome Collection – Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. I’ve spent so much time on this game that I feel like it’s just time to finish it and be done with this game for now. I also want to continue playing Fallout 3 since this is the furthest I’ve ever gotten with Fallout 3. As always, I’ll try to finish a few games here and there to clear up some much needed memory on both systems and maybe try to get a Vita game in.

Gaming Goals for the New Year – June 2015 – UPDATE

I really felt like I was back on track this month when it came to my goals for this year as I steadily increased my numbers where they needed to be increased. I fell a little bit in my completion rate since I started a new game, The Elder Scrolls Online, but didn’t really get anywhere with it and then again started yet another game that I’m progressing in so it was kind of a battle this month. Completion rate is one of those things where it’s really high at the beginning of the month but depending on what I do for the rest of the month it could drop really quickly. Here’s how things ended up for me.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 39
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 40
I hit a milestone platinum trophy this month with number 40. Not my most difficult platinum trophy ever, but still a little bit of a challenge. Only 10 more platinum trophies to go for my goal and to tell you the truth I really have no idea what they’re going to be. I haven’t really decided if I’m going to go back and play some older games that I have sitting around or if I’m going to start some new ones.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 4,906
– Ending # of Trophies: 5,004
I did it! I hit my 5,000th trophy mark right at the end of the month. Only 996 more trophies to go to my goal for the year. Starting two new games along with getting a few trophies here and there from some random games helped out this month as well as the release of the latest episode for Tales from the Borderlands.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 48.99%
– Ending Completion Rate: 49.33%
At this point, I’m kind of thinking that the 60% isn’t going to be coming any time soon. I’ll be happy by if at the end of the year I can hit 55%, but I’m going to keep trying. This number fluctuates like crazy because of games like The Witcher 3 and The Elder Scrolls Online which are sitting at 1% and 5%. If I can get these two games up along with some other ones instead of starting new games then I probably could hit the 60%.

Complete 75 games at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 72
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 72
I knew I had to come to a flat point at some time with this goal and this month seems to be it. I’m not to worried about it since I’m only three games away from my total goal, so I’ll take the drought this time with this category and hope that next month I can do better.

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft and Square Enix games!
– Starting # of Ubisoft and Square Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
– Ending # of Ubisoft and Squre Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
For now I’m staying strong, especially with the Ubisoft line up at E3. I’m kind of tempted to pre-order a bunch of Ubisoft games like the new Assassin’s Creed and start getting my pre-orders in for the new South Park game and For Honor but I’m still holding off. Hopefully I can hold off until the end of the year.

So for July I have a lot of plans to just work steadily on my backlog. There’s really nothing coming out that’s interesting enough for me to stop what I’m doing and immediately play that so I’m happy continuing to work through Borderlands: The Handsome Collection – Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel while I hopefully finish up Sparkle 2 on the PS3 this month as well. I’m currently stuck in this losing battle with my memory on both the PS4 and the PS3 so I’m also going to try and clear up some games that are eating my memory and I figure the easiest way to do that on the PS3 is to start playing the games that I downloaded for free thanks to PS+ and finish up some games on the PS4. Hopefully July will be a good month, but we’ll see how it goes.

Gaming Goals for the New Year – May 2015 UPDATE

I was expecting this month to be better, but an unexpected battle with tonsillitis made me not even touch my PS4 for a whole week. A whole week! I know, totally unheard of right? Sure, I had my PS Vita, but it’s just not the same. It’s not the same. But anyway, this month wasn’t really all that bad goal wise, so here’s a breakdown of how I did.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 38
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 39
I wasn’t even expecting to get the Borderlands 2 platinum trophy this month since it required two more full playthroughs, but a bunch of free time and not wanting to play anything new before The Witcher 3 came out pushed me to finish up this game and get the platinum trophy for the second time.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 4,816
– Ending # of Trophies: 4,906
Not a bad month trophy wise, a lot of this came from a new episode of Game of Thrones being released as well as starting and finishing Murasaki Baby on the same day. I was also able to get some extra trophies from a full playthrough of The Unfinished Swan as well as the one single trophy that I got from playing The Witcher 3. Finishing up Borderlands 2 completely on the PS4 and getting all of the DLC trophies also helped. Not to mention the boat load of trophies I got from picking up Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare again. I also started Far Cry 4 at the end of the month and picked up a decent amount of trophies in not a lot of time.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 48.73%
– Ending Completion Rate: 48.99%
I had the biggest jump with this number this month due to the fact that I started a lot of games and completely finished them as well as I finished up Borderlands 2 completely, and I uped my percentage for games like Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Pure Pool, and Don’t Starve: Console Edition. I’m so close to that 49% mark. It’s been a struggle, but I’m hoping I can still hit 60% by the end of the year.

Complete 75 games at 100%

– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 72
I’m almost at my goal of 75. It’s so close I can taste it at this point. I’m not going to rush it since I still have just about half a year to go in order to reach this goal, but I’m sure I’ll reach it within the next couple of months.

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft and Square Enix games!

I was so tempted to watch all of the reveal stuff surrounding Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate this month but I stopped myself. Year after year I get suckered into purchasing the next Assassin’s Creed that promises to be the Assassin’s Creed to end all Assassin’s Creed’s, but it just never is and it’s a let down each time even though everything surrounding the game looks awesome. I’ve been avoiding this game like the plague because I seriously don’t want to pre-order it or even purchase it. So far I’m being strong, but you never know.

Now for this upcoming month. After trying desperately to get into The Witcher 3, I just totally gave up for now since I couldn’t get into it. I was so excited about it, but now I just find myself not enjoying it like I do other RPG’s. I never felt the need to constantly play this game and at times I really didn’t even want to. I can’t pinpoint exactly what’s preventing me from getting into this game, but I think it has to do a little bit with having to play a generic character that I didn’t create. I plan on saving The Witcher 3 for a later time and I’ll just try again from the beginning. Now for this month, I’m going to continue to play Far Cry 4 hoping that I’ll have the platinum before The Elder Scrolls Online comes out. I’ll also continue to work my way through Sparkle 2 on PS3 as well as continuing to play Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare here and there. If I have time I might even start a new game.

Gaming Goals for the New Year – April 2015 UPDATE

So this past month…well it was ok for me gaming wise. It wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be and it wasn’t all that bad either. This month I really concentrated on getting that very well deserved at this point, Dragon Age: Inquisition platinum as well as getting sucked back into Borderlands. I was able to spend an afternoon playing Never Alone, which helped out a lot, but between those two other games it really didn’t leave the door open for much more this month. So, without further ado, let’s see how the month played out for me.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 37
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 38
Finally! I finally got that Dragon Age: Inquisition platinum and came really close to the end of the month in doing so. This took up a hell of a lot of my time since playing on Nightmare was…well a nightmare. I’m glad I never have to do that again, but I’m also glad that I have completed my collection of Dragon Age platinum’s. Now it’s just onto reaching my goal of 50 before the year is up.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 4,754
– Ending # of Trophies: 4,816
The spike that I seen last month must have been a fluke or something because this month was pretty awful. I’m seriously blaming Dragon Age: Inquisition for taking up almost all of my time as well as playing a hell of a lot of Borderlands 2. Hopefully I’ll get back on track next month, but I’m not sure especially with The Witcher 3 coming out along with the release of the Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 48.11%
– Ending Completion Rate: 48.73%
While this number had a solid jump this month, I’m kind of doubting that I’ll make it to the 60% by the end of the year at this point unless I can really clean up my trophy log and get a lot of the games at 100%. I’m still going to try my hardest though.

Complete 75 games at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 66
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 68
This number has been pretty steady each month and since I’m almost at my goal I’m really not going to worry about it all that much. I’m still pretty confident that I’ll be exceeding this number anyway before the year is up.

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft and Square Enix games!
– Starting # of Ubisoft and Square Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
– Ending # of Ubisoft and Squre Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
The one thing that keeps me going month after month, not ordering any of these games from companies that I’ve grown to not like that much after getting screwed around game wise. E3 is coming up though and I do watch the Ubisoft press conference…but I’m going to try and stay strong.

Now for this month. While I’m sure that The Witcher 3 is going to suck up a lot of my time, I’m going to be still trying to play a few other games along the way. At this point I’m really close to getting the Borderlands 2 platinum and 100%. All I need is 2 more main game trophies to get the platinum and 3 DLC trophies to get the 100%. I’m hoping that I’ll have this done before The Witcher 3 comes out. I’m also going to be working on finishing off the last 3 trophies I need for Sparkle 2 on the Vita. After that I’ll probably move on to Sparkle 2 on the PS3.

Gaming Goals for the New Year – March 2015 UPDATE

I have to say that at least this month wasn’t all that bad for me gaming wise. I played a hell of a lot of games and was able to advance a lot of my overall goals for the year. Let’s see how this month played out for me goal wise.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 36
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 37
The reason for the one platinum trophy this month was mainly because I’ve been concentrating on my Nightmare playthrough of Dragon Age: Inquisition which has been going along actually quite nicely since I used a decent Dragon Age World State along with a character class that I’ve been playing and perfecting since the game came out. This has made for a much easier run through of the game. I’m about halfway through my Nightmare playthrough now and got past some pretty difficult parts, too bad life keeps getting in the way though or else I would have seriously had this platinum this month.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 4,653
– Ending # of Trophies: 4,754
I’m really very happy with this number this month. This is really all thanks to being able to play the next episodes of Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones as well as starting Sparkle 2 on the PSVita, fully completing The Order: 1886 and Valiant Hearts: The Great War, and picking up some spare trophies from Little Big Planet 3 and Rollers of the Realm.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 48.02%
– Ending Completion Rate: 48.11%
So this number would have gone up a bit more this month if it wasn’t for starting Little Big Planet 3 which I didn’t get all that far in because my saved data keeps getting erased every other time I play and starting a few other games that have a bunch of really hard trophies. I’m pretty confident that I can still clean up a bunch of trophies that I’m missing for some games by the end of the year to bring this rate up.

Complete 75 games at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 64
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 66
This number is steadily increasing every month and I’m sure that I’ll have this goal more then accomplished by the end of the year. At this rate, I’m kind of thinking that by the end of the year I can have at least 85-90 games at 100% complete. I’m not going to push it though and extend my goal, but it would be nice to see this number be exceeded by the end of the year.

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft and Square Enix games!
– Starting # of Ubisoft and Square Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
– Ending # of Ubisoft and Squre Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
I totally added Square Enix to this list after being completely let down by Murdered: Soul Suspect. What a horrible game that I never want to play again or even play a game like it again. With E3 coming up I’m sure it’s going to be hard to hold onto this goal, but I’m sure as hell going to try my hardest to not pre-order any games from these companies.

Now for this month I’m going to be positive and say that this is the month that I will get that Dragon Age: Inquisition platinum trophy. Mostly so then I can stop talking about it and move on, but I’ll also be working on trying to complete Sparkle 2 on the PS Vita as well as Rollers of the Realm. As for new games this month I’m going to continue on with my playthrough for Borderlands 2 on the PS4 because I broke down and bought this game even though I already have the platinum on the PS3. I just really really love this game and had to have it on the PS4. I might even start another small game if I can find the time.
