These Past Two Weeks in Trophies 05-20-2018 – 06-02-2018

These past two weeks if anything have been super hectic that I’m even surprised I was able to play anything and even get a decent amount of trophies. There was work stuff, a vacation to MegaCon, an unplanned hospital visit, some more work stuff, and just regular life. Anyway, I was able to game so here’s a look at what I’ve been up to trophy wise.

Dead Island – Definitive Edition – 53%

I jumped back into this game this past week to play with my buddy @tjarvinen86 and the first thing that happened when I turned on the game was that I got a trophy. That was some pretty exciting stuff because no one expects a trophy for just turning on a game. Anyway, I’m having a great time jumping back into this game and just having fun which is what this game should be about since you really can’t take this game seriously.

Dead Island - Definitive Edition

Detroit: Become Human – 61%

So I not only started this game this past week, but I also finished it. I have to say that while it started off slow and a little on the boring side, things picked up at the end and I’m excited to go back and clean up some trophies before starting a new playthrough and hopefully getting the platinum for this game.

God of War – 70%

So I made some progress on this game the week of MegaCon, before I went to the actual convention, but I’m still having a really hard time with the collectibles because they’re just a pain in the ass. I’m missing a raven somewhere and even though I’m following a guide, I still feel pretty lost and I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing. I want to be able to finish this game and just be done with it, but I’m kind of finding it hard to get back into it at the moment.

King Oddball – 61%

One more trophy for this game as I slowly make my way through it. This happened before MegaCon and I haven’t touched the game since. It’s one of those games that’s impossible to play all at once so I’m really not in a rush to finish it as long as I eventually finish it.

And there you have it, two weeks 35 trophies, a big improvement from my previous counts even if it is for two weeks. I’m pretty happy with my progress and have a good outlook on things even though this week is going to be a little hectic with work and trying to finish up telling you guys about all the awesome stuff that happened at MegaCon this year. Anyway, when I do get a chance to game, I’ll probably play a little King Oddball, but my main focus will be to get the Detroit: Become Human platinum trophy before getting back into God of War and finding the million collectibles that I’m still missing.

This Week in Trophies 05-14-2017 – 05-20-2017

I tried to game as much as possible this week, and I think I did an OK job. I did hit some milestones as I finished my second playthrough of Mass Effect: Andromeda like I wanted to, and I also finished my first playthrough of Dead Island – Definitive Edition. Other than that, it was a busy week and I couldn’t find that much time to game. Anyway, let’s take a look at what trophies I was able to get this week.

Mass Effect: Andromeda – 84%

Like I said earlier, I finished my second playthrough of this game and even though I’m eager to start my third and final playthrough, I’m not sure when I’m going to start yet. There’s also the question of if I want to play on insanity or do the 5 gold runs in the multiplayer. Granted, I haven’t played the multiplayer all that much so I’m a little unsure of what to do here. Anyway, it probably won’t be this week that I start a new game of Mass Effect: Andromeda, but it will be soon.

Gems of War – 87%

There’s usually something that pulls me back into this game each time and this time it was the fact that there was some new DLC added and with that DLC came three new trophies. I of course had to try and get as many of these trophies as I could because I hate that it kills my completion each and every time something new is added. Anyway, this time it was Guild Wars. My guild is pretty small, but at least the trophies aren’t that hard to get.

Dead Island – Definitive Edition – 51%

I was happy to at least finish this game this week and get through all four acts. I have to say that this was one really crappy remaster of a game that wasn’t really all that good to begin with. I thought the remaster would be different because of a couple of different things, but it hasn’t been that great of an overall experience. Anyway, I’m unsure if I’ll go for the platinum trophy or not for this game.

And that was it for the week. For this upcoming week, I have no idea what to expect. I’ll have about four days to game and then I’m off to MegaCon which means no gaming. It’s a tough decision, going to a pretty big convention and meeting a bunch of awesome celebrities or staying home and gaming. Decisions, decisions. Anyway, if I do get some gaming time in while I’m not prepping for my trip to MegaCon, I’m not really sure what I’ll play and I doubt I’ll start something new. I might not even get any trophies next week. Either way I’ll let you know.

Proper Etiquette When Joining Another Persons Game

As you might already know, as of late I’ve been playing some Dead Island – Definitive Edition on my PS4. If you frequent this blog you also know that I’m not really a fan of multiplayer games, I’ve had some bad experiences, but for some reason killing zombies alone isn’t all that fun. Anyway, I’ve been leaving my game room open, letting anyone who wants to join me on my zombie slaying missions come along. While this has mostly been fine, it also lead me to write this blog.

So there I was a couple of Saturday’s ago running around killing some zombies for a side mission when some random dude, who won’t be named, entered my game. Happy to have a partner I went on my way until I realized that this random dude just changed my mission from the side mission to the main mission. What the hell dude? Not only did he change the mission, but he actually went along and did the main story mission. WITHOUT ME. Seriously?

This made me think. Is there a proper etiquette when entering someone’s game? Some “rules” maybe that should be followed when YOU enter someone’s room? I like to think so. If you’re entering someone’s room it’s really not up to you what mission gets done, it’s up to the person who was already there. Don’t go into someone’s room and do what you want to do it doesn’t work like that. Think of it as going over to someone’s house and demanding to be player one. That’s not how it works. The room owner is always player one while the person entering is player two.

Playing Dead Island isn’t the first time this has happened either, it’s happened in Borderlands as well. Every time it happens I always think dude what the hell. Then I think about what I do when I’m that random person entering someone’s room, granted this doesn’t happen often, but when it does I follow the leader. Want to do side missions? I’m game. Want to work on story related missions only? Whatever man it’s your room.

In conclusion, when entering a random room, show some kind of politeness and do what the other person wants since it is their game. If you want to do something else maybe get on your mic and ASK if the mission could be changed or send a quick message. Just don’t be that guy or girl who goes off and does whatever the hell you want and ruin someone’s game session.

This Week in Trophies 05-07-2017 – 05-13-2017

As you know, I recently purchased an 8TB external hard drive for my PS4 to fit the ever growing backlog of games that I’ve acquired. While I’ve been trying my hardest to load each and every game onto this external hard drive along with being busy with life, I’ve actually forgotten to game. Silly me. Anyway, this week I had enough of that and decided that I would start something new even if that meant putting off my second Mass Effect: Andromeda playthrough for just a little while until I had some more time to actually play. Anyway, here’s what I played this week.

Dead Island – Definitive Edition – 37%

I had originally played this game on the PS3 when a former friend of mine said I had to have this game because she had it and it didn’t matter that I was unemployed because we needed something new to play. So I broke down and got it. Ended up beating it alone on the PS3, thanks former friend, but then decided to purchase the “Definitive Edition” for the PS4 so that I could experience the whole game by myself and judge it for myself like I did with Borderlands 2. Anyway, I’ve been playing this game all week basically and was able to rack up a decent amount of trophies. So far, I’m enjoying it the game even though it isn’t really the best.

And that was it for this week because that was all my schedule allowed me. Anyway, for this upcoming week, I plan on getting at least a full day of Mass Effect: Andromeda in which should finish up my second playthough before moving onto my third and final playthrough of the game. Other than that I’ll continue to play Dead Island – Definitive Edition until I finish that up and start a new game. Check back next week to see how I did.
