Gaming Goals for the New Year – February 2015 UPDATE

After a not so decent gaming month in January, I was hoping to at least improve just a little bit this month. While this month wasn’t all that fantastic for me gaming wise, it was a little bit better then last month so let’s see how the month played out for me.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 34
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 36
While this number isn’t really increasing all that fast, a lot of it has to do with the fact that I’m still working on the Dragon Age: Inquisition Platinum and I’m throwing in a few games here and there while I try to get this one. I know I could skip it and work on some other games, but this platinum is pretty important to me.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 4,561
– Ending # of Trophies: 4,653
I’m pretty happy with my overall trophy progress this month. I do miss the months where I was racking up over 200 trophies, but sometimes life just gets in the way and there’s really nothing you can do about it.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 47.37%
– Ending Completion Rate: 48.02%
I know for a fact that in order for this to go up to the amount that I want it to I’m going to have to go back and finish some games that I started a long long time ago and didn’t get a chance to finish or had no desire to finish. Once I clear out a little bit more of my backlog I plan on working these games into my gaming sessions so this number should hopefully go up. This also means completing some random DLC trophies that I still need for some games.

Complete 75 games at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 62
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 64
I really hate that this number is so fickle and it depends if DLC came out for some games. I love getting that 100%, but then some DLC comes out and it’s back down to whatever percent. It’s like a losing battle sometimes, but I’ll get to the 75 before the year is out. I would have had an extra game completed at 100% if LEGO Batman 3 didn’t have so much damn DLC.

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft games!
– Starting # of Ubisoft Games Pre-Ordered: 0
– Ending # of Ubisoft Games Pre-Ordered: 0
Another win this month that I’m so very proud of. I’m doing so well in this category that I’m even thinking of adding to it! I just finished playing Murdered: Soul Suspect and I’m pretty certain that I’ll be adding Square Enix to this list since this isn’t the first Square Enix game that I’m disappointed with.

So while I didn’t get the Dragon Age: Inquisition platinum this month, I did get a couple of other trophies in that game that I was missing along with two new platinum’s and a handful of trophies to add to my list. Getting that Nightmare mode playthrough in DAI is my main goal for this month, but it’s not the only game I’ll be playing. I’ll also be starting The Order: 1886 and Little Big Planet 3. I might even throw in Valiant Hearts: The Great War if I have some time.

Most Anticipated Game for February

A new month is quickly approaching and a new month always means new games. So far this year is shaping up to be a pretty exciting year if you’re a gamer. While there doesn’t’ seem to be an overload of games at the moment, I like to consider that a good thing. Your wallet can take a nice break while you pick through a few games and take your time playing them. Here’s what’s coming out for the month of February.

*Just as a side note, my list of February releases is not perfect. There might be some missing, or some dates may change. If you have anything you want to add feel free to let me know in the comments and I’ll include it in the list.*

The only game that I’m looking forward to for next month is The Order: 1886. From what I’ve seen so far it looks pretty damn amazing. This game has been delayed a few times, so I’m pretty excited that this will finally be coming out in February. Since I’ll only be picking up this one game I’m going to be spending the rest of my gaming time working on my backlog.

Now it’s your turn. What game are you most looking forward to in February? Are you going to be picking up The Order: 1886 or is your money going to be spent on a different game this month? Let me know in the comments section below.
