Frequently Asked Video Game Questions – Is The Four Kings Casino and Slots game easy?

Submitted by Anonymous – Is The Four Kings Casino and Slots game easy?

Since I’m really not sure whether or not this questions is about trophies or the game itself, I basically have two answers for you.

If you’re going on the game itself, then yes it’s easy. This is the PS4 version of PlayStation Home except for the fact that it takes place in a casino. The Four Kings Casino and Slots was released for the PS4 way back in 2015 as a free to play game. It’s still free to play, but it of course has micro-transactions like every free to play game. When you first install this game, if you’re doing so now, you’ll have a bunch of updates to install so get ready for a really long download time. When you finally get finished with that you’ll enter the game and create your own digital avatar. Make your avatar and dress him or her as you like, this is where some of the first microtransactions become available because there isn’t a huge selection of clothes. Want something special? You’ll have to pay real money for it. Moving on though, once you have your avatar created you can walk around the casino and start playing games. There are slot machines, black jack tables, roulette tables, war tables, poker tables, a bingo room, a bowling alley, and more. The catch is your money at first is limited so be careful on how you spend it. You’ll get free chips every so often, but other than that if you’re out of money, you’re out of money. This is where the other micro-transactions come in because you can get fake money with real money. Other than some bugs and glitches from time to time this game runs fine and it allows you to play casino games without actually losing thousands of your own hard earned money.

Warning! You cannot win real money by playing this game. I don’t know how many times in the little chat box I’ve seen people asking where they can turn in their chips for actual money. Don’t be one of these people. Especially if you give into the micro-transactions and pay real money for fake money in the game. You cannot get this back. Ever.

Now onto if the trophies for this game is easy, the answer to that question would be a firm no. A lot of these trophies are luck based and require you to do a specific task in order to get it. Not only are a lot of the trophies luck based, but they require a lot of grinding. If you’re going for the trophies on this game you’ll be spending most of your time playing this game and only this game since to reach VIP levels it takes a lot of winning. This sometimes doesn’t happen and sometimes you just don’t have the money for it. Not to mention the VIP status restarts at the beginning of every month. Don’t think about trying for VIP status in the middle of the month because it’s almost impossible to get. Not to mention new trophies are released with each new game added, so not only are the original trophies hard to get, but the added trophies are as well and take a lot of work.

The final answer to this question is both yes and no. Yes the game itself is an easy one to play and I can see the allure to it if you’re the gambling type or just one of the many people who miss PlayStation Home. The trophies on the other hand are not easy and if you’re thinking you’ll go in get a bunch of easy trophies and get out, then think again and look somewhere else for a game. In order to get all of the trophies, which is ultra-rare by the way, you’ll have to be super lucky in the money department for this game so that you aren’t actually spending real money with micro-transactions and you’ll have to spend 100’s of hours playing.

Frequently Asked Video Game Questions – Why does Shoppe Keep keep crashing all of a sudden on the PS4?

Submitted by Anonymous Why does Shoppe Keep keep crashing all of a sudden on the PS4?

So a little back history on this game before I actually answer the question, Shoppe Keep was released for the PlayStation 4 on September 19, 2017 by Strange Fire Studios. This game basically lets you live out your Skyrim dream of running Belethors General Goods, where everything is for sale.

At first this game ran perfectly, like a game actually should, and there was nothing wrong with it. The only thing that was really wrong with it, if you wanted to be picky, was the screen size which could not be adjusted and half of it was cut off on the TV. So, when a couple weeks ago my PlayStation 4 notified me that it was downloading a patch for Shoppe Keep I was generally surprised. This game was running smoothly and had no major problems, so there didn’t really seem like a reason to patch the game unless of course they were going to fix the screen size problem. Anyway, when the patch was finally done downloading and installed there was no adjustment to the screen size and everything was basically the same except for the fact that the game constantly crashes now. Not only does the game constantly crash at random times but there is also a ton of lag while playing this game now. Instead of fixing the screen size this patch created problems for this game that had no problems at all.

So basically, the answer to your question is that this game is constantly crashing now because of the new patch. Hopefully Strange Fire Studios will see this and eventually put out another patch to fix this and fix the screen size. I have to say that ever since this patch I’ve been playing the game a lot less because I am tired of losing my data every time this game wants to crash which is randomly. I’m also tired of having to save so much that my saves start becoming corrupted and I have to create a new save every so often.

Frequently Asked Video Game Questions – Is Bully on the PS4 as good as Bully on the PS2?

Submitted by Anonymous Is Bully on the PS4 as good as Bully on the PS2?

This is a pretty simple question to answer because the Bully that you get on PS4 is the exact same Bully that you get on the PS2. There’s nothing new, nothing different, and nothing extra added to the game. Unless of course you count that you can now get trophies for it. If you still have a PS2 and don’t care about trophies, I would say pop in your PS2 version and play again. If you had Bully on the PS2 and no longer own a PS2, but want to play the game again, then go ahead and get it for the PS4.

I will point out though that there are some problems that the game suffers, which you can read about here. And if you’re still unsure of whether or not you want to purchase the game, I did a full review of the game over a year ago that you can read here.

Frequently Asked Video Game Questions – How do you get the most out of your PS Vita?

Submitted by Anonymous How do you get the most out of your PS Vita?

Seeing as how I haven’t picked up my Vita in months, I’m probably not the person who should be answering this but I’m going to try. I know that games and overall content for the PS Vita is extremely limited. It was Sony’s big second chance at a handheld device and frankly it’s kind of a failure. It’s not as bad as the PlayStation Portable, but it’s still not a success like Nintento has had with its handheld devices. Anyway, here are some of the ways that I feel like I’ve gotten the most out of my PS Vita over the years:

• If you’re a PS+ member, which I am, download the games that you’re given for free every month. You’re guaranteed at least two so download them and play them.
• Download the “free” games from the Free Game section in the PS store. I say “free” because they all come with micro-transactions, like all of these games do, but they’re still fun and will help you make use of your Vita.
• Purchase Vita games that are on sale. I never found a full priced Vita game that was a must have for me and waited until each of them were on sale. If you buy them on disk you can always re-sell them later on, but if you download them I would say don’t pay more than $5.00.
• If you have PS4, use you PS Vita for remote play. You have to have a good internet connection in order to do so, but it’s worth it. For me, I like to use my PS Vita for remote play with Gems of War. It’s a simple to play game and works just fine on the PS Vita.

Hope that helps you start making the most out of your PS Vita. That reminds me, I should probably start using my PS Vita again.

Frequently Asked Video Game Questions – How long does it take to get the Game of Thrones Platinum?

Submitted by Anonymous How long does it take to get the Game of Thrones Platinum?

The answer to this question depends on which Game of Thrones game you’re talking about. If you’re talking about the Game of Thrones game that isn’t from Telltale, then I have no idea because I never played that game. I know it exists but I also heard that it was really horrible so I completely skipped that even though I love the show. If you’re talking about the Telltale Game of Thrones game, then it should take you around 15 hours depending on how long it takes you to get through the story.

All six episodes for this game are available right now so you don’t have to wait for them to be released on Telltale’s time table. Each episode is about 1 ½ – 2 ½ hours long so it just depends on how many episodes you want to play in a day. If you wanted to spend all day playing this game and getting the platinum trophy for it in one sitting, you possibly could. When it comes to these games though and all the episodes are released, I at least like to play an episode a day because if not I feel like I get burnt out on the game itself, but that’s just me.

Frequently Asked Video Game Questions – How do you unlock the Geography class in Bully on the PS4?

Submitted by Anonymous How do you unlock the Geography class in Bully on the PS4?

The really basic and simple answer to this questions is that you don’t. On the PS4 version of Bully there is no Geography class. For me this was a real bummer because the Geography class was included in the Scholarship edition of Bully that was released for the PC, Wii, and Xbox 360. This edition was never released on the PS3 which is why there is no Geography class. This was a bummer and it’s also the reason why I never bought this game for my PS3 even though there was a download for it. The download was for the PS2 version and also did not support trophies. With the so-called remaster for the PS4, I though that the Geography class would be added it, but it wasn’t and it seems like all that we really got was the PS2 version of the game on the PS4 with trophies.

Frequently Asked Video Game Questions – Why are the people in Mass Effect: Andromeda so ugly?

Submitted by Anonymous Why are the people in Mass Effect: Andromeda so ugly?

This is kind of a hard question since beauty is really in the eye of the beholder, but when it comes to Mass Effect: Andromeda this is true. But the question is why. Why are these characters so ugly? I think that there are a lot of reasons for this, but it mostly has to do with the facial animations themselves. While BioWare has fixed some (key word some) of these issues with the latest patch for this game, that doesn’t mean the game is at the 100% AAA standard of facial animations.

After doing some research and actually watching some video’s on the whole facial animation thing, it seems that each conversation wasn’t programmed by hand. This happens a lot with huge scale RPG games. Instead of programming each random conversation by hand, which could take years, programmers use an algorithm. I’m thinking this is why I had to learn so much math when I was going to college for computer programming, anyway this algorithm was developed in order to judge the type of conversation that was happening and how the facial animations should respond to that conversation. This made for a lot of awkward facial animations throughout the game and characters just not seeming on point with the way the conversation was going. Not only was this awkward, but it also made the characters appear ugly a lot of the times. While this would have been fine when talking to some random people on a random planet, this was not fine during key events in the game which is why there was and still is so much rage when it comes to this game.

Frequently Asked Video Game Questions – In the Borderlands Universe, Does Athena love Janey?

Submitted by Anonymous In the Borderlands Universe, Does Athena love Janey?

Can I just start by saying that I absolutely love this question. Two reasons before I give my answer. One because Athena is my all time favorite Borderlands character. The tattoo dedicated to her on my left arm proves it and two because I am a huge Athena/Janey shipper. Now onto the question.

Minor Spoilers – There will be some minor spoilers for Borderlands the Pre-Sequel and Tales from the Borderlands so you’ve been warned.

In the Borderlands series, Athena has always come off as kind of a robot. She does what she’s told and she does so with perfection not letting emotions and other things get in the way. Her backstory is a hard one and she was trained to be this way. It’s a defense mechanism really and I think she’s one of the least understood characters in the Borderlands universe. That’s what I love so much about her though. For me, she’s an easy character to relate to because of this. Janey is the complete opposite. She always says what’s on her mind and her banter with Athena in the Pre-Sequel throws Athena off guard at times. Although there are some indications to a relationship between the two in the Holodome Onslaught DLC, this really doesn’t get fleshed out until Tales from the Borderlands.

Tales from the Borderlands officially confirms that yes Athena and Janey are a couple, but like every couple they have their struggles. Athena is supposed to be giving up the life that she’s lived for so long in order for something simpler to be with Janey, but she’s having a hard time doing so. Since Tales from the Borderlands is all about choice, as the player you can push for them to be together and make them work through their problems. This will result in them planning their wedding by the end of the game.

Now back to the question at hand, does Athena love Janey. I like to believe that she does. With them being different, Janey will of course be more open and willing to admit her feelings while Athena on the other hand is a little more closed off. Saying that, that doesn’t mean that Athena doesn’t love Janey just because she’s a private person. Athena just has a different way of showing her love for Janey.

Frequently Asked Video Game Questions – Is it worth it to play Bully again?

Submitted by Anonymous Is it worth it to play Bully again?

This question could mean a lot of things, so let’s go by what I thought it first meant. If you mean, is it worth it to play Bully again after playing on the PS2/PS3, then I would say that it’s up to you and how you felt about this game to begin with. If you fell into the category of people that loved this game, which I did, then you’ll want to play this game on the PS4 to live out some nostalgia and you’ll shell out the $14.99 it costs to get this game. If you fell into the category of people that hated this game, there were some out there who were expecting Rockstar to do another GTA which this clearly wasn’t, then you’re not going to want to play this game again on the PS4. It’s the same exact game that it was on the PS2/PS3 so if you hated it then you’ll hate it now.

Now if you meant is it worth it to play Bully again because I missed a few trophies and I want to get the platinum, then my answer would be it depends once again on you. Are you a trophy hunter? Do you need that platinum trophy? Most of the trophies for this game are obtainable the first time around and it’s pretty hard to miss them, but it happens. Now my second question would be, did you enjoy the game? If you enjoyed the game then it should be no problem to go back and get the trophies, but if you hated this game then you’ll probably want to skip it the second time around. There really isn’t a reason to go back and get trophies if you aren’t into the game. If you’re a die-hard trophy hunter you’ll want to go back and finish the trophies because sometimes missing just one trophy will just plague you. Either way the choice is yours. If it was up to me, I would go back and do it just because I really enjoyed the game despite all of it’s flaws.

Frequently Asked Video Game Questions – Is the Trophy “Taken for a Ride” glitched for Fallout 4?

Submitted by Anonymous – Is the Trophy “Taken for a Ride” glitched for Fallout 4?

Because I personally didn’t have any problems when it came to playing this DLC myself, I had to look this one up. For me everything worked as it should and I got this trophy when I should, but there seems to be a lot of complaints when it comes to this trophy. A lot of people are getting stuck after this quest is just about over when you’ve beaten the overboss and have become the new overboss. A door is supposed to open for you, but for those of you that are having a glitch the door doesn’t open and you can’t progress. I’ve seen people talking about uninstalling and reinstalling the DLC, but that doesn’t seem to work, and neither does restarting the game.

I couldn’t find evidence of this problem being solved so I’m going to say that before you even start playing Nuka World that you create a main back up save for your game. By this time you’ve already probably spent hundreds of hours into this game and there’s no reason you should lose all of your data because of a glitch. Once you have your main save, create another save to play off of. If everything works out fine then you can delete your backup save if you want, but if things don’t work out at least you can go back to a time before you played Nuka World.
