This Week in Trophies 12-23-2018 – 12-29-2018

This was an OK week when it came to gaming. I’ve keep my promise of not starting any new games until the new year and it’s kind of making me miserable as I play some games that I just don’t like. This last full week of the year has seemed more like a chore than anything else and I’ll be happy when the year is over and I can unveil my brand new goal for next year that will make gaming feel like less of a chore. Anyway, onto the trophies.

Dying Light – 36%

I’m really glad my buddy @tjarvinen86 pushed me to play this game again because I’m having a great time doing so. I think that when I first started playing it, there were a lot of reasons that I don’t want to get into that made me stop. Mostly other people, but I found that playing this game again is fun and I really missed out so I’m enjoying my time as I play this again.

Gems of War – 72%

As you might have guessed, I stopped playing this game a long time ago, but I kept my guild open. At the urging of a fellow guild member, I had to log in in order to kick someone from the guild. This prompted me to use a few keys that I had to open some chests and it popped a trophy. All that just to kick out an inactive guild member. And no, the member was not me.

Word Search by POWGI (PS4) – 44%

I used this game as my chill out game this week because with the holidays this week has been stressful. I like to play this game because I can shut off the background music put on my headphone and listen to some music that I want to listen to and just not have to think. It’s a relaxing little thing and it beats the next game which has made my life a living hell.

WWE 2K19 – 79%

This is the last WWE game that I will ever get as this game is such a piece of crap. I absolutely hate this game, but I continue to play because I want to be able to get whatever trophies I can now and just be done with this game. It’s such a chore to play and it’s not even fun to play online. That being said I am only 6 trophies away from the platinum trophy and at this point I really don’t care if I get it or not, I’m just trying to finish up the multiplayer trophies and be done with this game. Oh and a huge shout out to CHRISTONTHEGOD who called me a fucking bitch when I beat him because he was too busy showboating outside of the ring that when he tried to get back in I punched him in the face and he fell to the ground for the count out. I swear the community for this game is extremely toxic and I’ve been called so many things in so many languages that I’ve just about had it. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, but if you’re going to lose at least do it with some dignity.

There you have it the final full week of the year with a total of 35 trophies. I’m pretty happy with this amount of trophies for my final full week of the year. I am so look forward to this upcoming week as I continue some games and start some other games that I’ve been waiting to start for a while now. I’ll let you know how everything went and what I decided to start playing next week. That being said I hope that everyone has a happy and safe new year. This Week in Trophies 09-09-2018 – 09-15-2018

I honestly don’t know how to feel about this week when it comes to trophies. I feel like I gamed a decent amount of time, but the only thing I accomplished was getting one platinum trophy. While there is nothing wrong with that, this is one of those weeks where I felt like I was slacking again and I hate feeling like that. Anyway, onto the trophies.

Destiny 2 – 2%

I’ve been hitting this game pretty hard since it was released for free with PS+. I’m not really sure why since I sure as hell don’t like the main story or know what’s going on. I think maybe it has to do with the fact that I can just play and it helps relieve my mind of the things going on around me that I really can’t control. Anyway, this is a great game for that and I’ll continue to play until I get bored with it.

Gems of War – 77%

I don’t know why I keep wasting my time with this game. I spent the whole day yesterday getting two trophies and I’m not please with myself for doing so. There are so many other games that I could be playing, should be playing, and yet this game just lingers there because I hate that it’s incomplete. It’s just one of those games that I feel like I’ll be playing forever even though I don’t want to.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season – 15%

I finally got the chance to play the first episode of this game and I’m not sure how to feel about it yet. I’m kind of torn especially since I didn’t get all of the trophies which means I have to go back and play again in order to write my review. I’m just not sure what to think about this yet, but I think maybe a second playthrough will help clear some of that up, or at least I’m hoping that it will.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – Collection – 100%

I finally completed this game and was able to get the platinum trophy after 4 very long weeks of playing. That being said, I won’t be saying much until my review for the game which will come out next Wednesday.

Word Search by POWGI – 29%

I used this game as a little filler of a game this week and was able to at least get one trophy for it, so I guess that’s something. While I’m not really dedicated to playing this game, it’s nice to use as a time passer when I really don’t want to play something intense.

That was it for this week, a total of 17 trophies, one of which was a platinum. That has to count for something right? As for this week, I feel a little lost when it comes to gaming. I’m going to try and go back and get some God of War trophies, maybe get in another playthrough of The Walking Dead: The Final Season, and go from there. I’m not really sure what to expect from this week, but I’ll let you know how things go next week.

This Week in Trophies 09-02-2018 – 09-08-2018

Everyone has their ups and downs and after a little bit of a downer week last week, I have to say that things are looking up again. I do hate being overly optimistic though because it just seems to bring along some bad stuff with it, so I’m not going to be overly optimistic. I will say that I had a great trophy hunting week though, so let’s get to it and see what you’ve been waiting for which is the trophies.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate – 84%

I finally finished this game at the start of the week, which unfortunately means that I won’t be talking about it here and you’ll have to wait for my review to come out on Wednesday.

Gems of War – 75%

Will this game ever be done with the DLC? A new package of DLC this week brought in new trophies and new areas to explore as well as new time consuming tasks to complete. This game is never easy and I really hate that I spent so much time trying to get that 100% in this game that I probably never will and I play this when I could be playing other games.

Steven Universe: Save the Light – 100%

At the start of this week, actually 20 minutes after I finished Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, I got the platinum trophy for this game! Neato Burrito! Anyway, you know the deal though all will be said in my review which will be posted next Wednesday.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection – 72%

I was taking my time with this game and thoroughly enjoying it until a bug in season two completely ruined my story and made choices for me that I didn’t choose. After that I’ve been in a fuck it kind of mode with this game and just have been plowing through the episodes as I try to get through a game that I once loved and just get it done. I was able to finish up the second season and The New Frontier this week and will most likely finish up the entire game today.

Drumroll please because my total amount of trophies for this week is 41! That even includes two whole platinum trophies, which is super rare for me since…years and years ago. Anyway, I had a great trophy week and it kind of helped with everything else going on which is why I love gaming so much. Anyway, for this upcoming week, I will finish The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection, continue playing some Destiny 2, start streaming Rise of the Tomb Raider, and finally start The Walking Dead: The Final Season. I’ll let you know how everything turns out next week.

This Week in Trophies 08-26-2018 – 09-01-2018

This wasn’t the best week in trophies for me, but it wasn’t the worst either. It was one of those in between weeks where I just had a lot going on with work and some personal stuff that I really didn’t feel like gaming all that much. It just happens every once in a while, sometimes it feels more often lately, but it is what it is. Without going into my whole life story, let’s get into the story that you actually want to hear about and that’s my trophies.

Fallout Shelter – 100%

It took me a total of 2 months and 2 weeks, but I finally got the platinum trophy for this game! You know the deal though, if I got the platinum trophy then I really don’t talk about the game here, so you’ll have to wait for my review on Wednesday.

Gems of War – 85%

Yes, I’m still playing this game. Yes, I’m also not happy that I’m still playing this game. I can’t wait for this game to just stop with all the DLC trophies and be done so that I can finally finish the game, get my 100% and just be done with this game once and for all.

Steven Universe: Save The Light – 82%

I really thought I was going to be done with this game this week and add another platinum trophy in for the week, but that totally didn’t happen. It didn’t happen for a lot of reasons and I should have read about this game a little bit before I started playing so that I knew what I had to do. Anyway, it was my mistake as I now grind for Chroma to finish up this game and get the platinum. I’m thinking it should take a few days of grinding and trying to play this game every couple of hours when I can and the platinum trophy will be mine.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection – 21%

Done with season one, I started season two this week, but didn’t get very far as I only completed on episode. I’m kind of in a rush to finish this game, not because I want another platinum trophy for this series, but because I really want to play the final season and am holding off until I can finish this game. Ugh! I’ll try to finish up this game a little more this week if time permits.

That was it, a total of 15 trophies for the week. Not bad because at least one of them was a platinum trophy. Who can complain about a week’s worth of trophies if one is a platinum right? Anyway, for the upcoming week, I plan on continuing to work on Steven Universe: Save the Light, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection, and probably some other obscure games that I have laying around. Will I start something new? I have no idea as we’ll just have to see how my week goes and I’ll let you know all about it next week.

This Week in Trophies 07-29-2018 – 08-04-2018

Can I just say I totally kicked ass in the trophy department this week? After a disappointing week last week, I just knew I had to get back out there and crush it. I totally did this week and I’m super happy about it. I know it probably won’t last, but it’ll be nice to bask in all my trophy glory for at least a day. Here’s how my week went.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate – 49%

I’m almost finished with this game. As I close in on my last mission and then run around to do some random stuff, this might actually be platinum trophy number 90. Or it might not. At this point I’m not sure of how much of a grind I’m going to have to endure once the game is over, so I look forward to seeing and to seeing if I can actually get the platinum for this game.

Castaway Paradise – 83%

For those of you who owned a Wii, this is basically a poor man’s Animal Crossing. I say a poor man’s Animal Crossing because while it embodies the whole Animal Crossing vibe, it does it in a cheap way to where it’s always day time no matter when you play and while it says it has events, like now is summer, I’m doubtful as to what the other seasons bring. Not to mention, all of the animals on the island are the same. While I am enjoying my time playing, I’ll save my final judgement for when I get the platinum for this game. Will this game be platinum number 90?

Fallout Shelter – 73%

How I hate this game so much now as it constantly crashes my PS4 and pops trophies at the most random of times. I didn’t even complete the trophy that popped, but at this point I really don’t care as I want this game to be over and done with so I can delete it from my system.

Gems of War – 82%

Yes, I still play this game. Can I believe that I still play this game, no not really, but I do. Anyway, I finally reached level 250 this week and got a trophy for it. This is one of those grindy games that I feel like I have to play and do on a daily basis in order to keep my guild up. Are you ready for this total? This insane number of trophies that I haven’t been able to hit since I don’t remember when? A total of 45 trophies this week! Can you believe it? I sure as hell can’t. This was just an amazing week of trophies and I even hit the 8,500 mark in trophies and actually didn’t even realize it until today. I also outdid myself and went past my own milestone marker. That’s some amazing stuff. As for the upcoming week, I’ll continue to keep doing what I did this week since it seemed to work. Will it work this week? I’m not sure so come back next week to find out.

This Week in Trophies 06-17-2018 – 06-23-2018

This week was a somewhat decent, somewhat crazy week for me as I tried to get a lot done gaming wise, but I don’t know. Am I losing my trophy hunting ways? At this point I kind of feel like I’m in this funk when it comes to trophy hunting and I think I just have to find my game to get me out of that funk. I don’t know what that is at the moment and it might just be that I have to play a lot of games to find out. Anyway, here’s what I was able to scoop up this week.

Citizens of Earth – 9%

Instead of finishing up Detroit: Become Human and finally get the platinum, I decided to spend most of my day playing this game. I will say that this was a total waste of my time and I should have played something else because now I have this super corny and campy game on my trophy list and I’m going to need to finish it and will probably hate every second of it. Be prepared in the upcoming for me to either finish this game and give it a horrible review or just rage quit.

Detroit: Become Human – 92%

I am so close to the platinum it’s not even funny. I had a huge misstep this week when it came to playing the game that totally pissed me off, but I was able to fix it in a day and all was well. I’m only missing a few trophies, but I’m feeling a little burnt out on the game because it seems like no matter how I play the story still reaches the same pinnacles that it does no matter what. While I can understand why it does this, it just doesn’t really make the game that replayable. Knowing that I have to play at least one more time is kind of putting a damper on that to be honest.

Fallout Shelter – 20%

I’m enjoying my progress in this game and am enjoying actually playing this game now that I can play it on the PS4 and not on my PC where it just decided not to work after a certain time. Hopefully this doesn’t happen with the PS4 version. I enjoy playing this for about 15-20 minutes a day before putting it down and moving on.

Gems of War – 80%

There was another update for this game this week so that means more trophies. More trophies means more time I have to spend with this game. The only reason I continue to play is because of Guild obligations, so if you play and are looking to join a guild that is active and at a decent rank, there are 28 slots open so just let me know. Anyway, this game just isn’t fun anymore and feels like a daily obligation instead of something that I actually want to play.

And there you have it, a total of 12 trophies for the week. I shouldn’t be too upset about this number, but I’m just not happy with it. I just really want to find that game that restores my faith in gaming because as of late I have to be honest it’s dwindling. This is sad and I don’t know if it’s because I’m working a lot or what, but I just know that I need to find that game. This Week in Trophies 04-29-2018 – 05-05-2018

This was another sad week for trophies. I remember when I used to get so excited writing this blog because I would have 50+ trophies to brag about, now it’s like I’m lucky if I make it to 20 which is extremely rare these past few weeks / months. Anyway, this is what my week in the gaming world looked like.

Gems of War – 83%

I really don’t mind the updates for this game, especially with the improvements that it makes upon the game, but seriously what the hell with all of the trophies it has to add! I mean, I try to play this game to keep up with my Guild, which is severely lacking members, but it just seems never ending and it wants you to devote your entire life to it. If you play this game and are looking for a Guild, please let me know. One of these days I’m going to call it quits with this game, just not any time soon.

God of War – 32%

So I know how I’ve said this game is great and all, and it is, but I just thought the end, which I think was the end because after I finished the last mission the credits rolled, was just eh. Compared to the game as a whole, which was epic, it just felt like the ending fell really flat. I hate saying that because the game was amazing and such an improvement, but I don’t know about the ending. I’m going to have to think about it as I go back to get some more trophies.

King Oddball – 23%

This game was free, starting this week and the rest of the month, and even though I vowed not to start a new game until I finished God of War or Far Cry 5, I couldn’t resist playing this game. I think it’s because I’ve played Baseball Riot and Tennis in the Face and I wanted to play this game because it’s basically the same thing. The only thing I can say about this game right now is that the graphics are really bad. They’re like blurry, and I don’t know if that was supposed to be like that or if it just is for some reason.

That was it for this week, a lousy 10 trophies. This week my plan is to try and get the platinum for both God of War and Far Cry 5. I know it’s a hefty goal, but I think if I set my mind to it that I can do it, plus I have some free time this week. Not a lot, but some. I still have a bunch of prep for MegaCon which is less than 20 days away! So there’s that…and there’s work, which I hate, but I’ll let you know how things go next week.

This Week in Trophies 02-25-2018 – 03-03-2018

This week was surprisingly decent when it came to trophies. It’s nothing like what I used to get I the past, but it is an improvement on what I have been getting. It’s kind of like you win some and then you lose some, and I would put this week I the winning category. Anyway, take a look at what I was able to get this week.

BioShock – 25%

So since I can’t stream this game basically because 2K says so without an actual reason, I’ve been playing and recording this game as much as possible. The problem is this game has become very glitchy. This is taking away some of my initial enjoyment, because I did want to get back into BioShock and back into Rapture, but it’s hard when things keep going wrong like the game stalls and then throws me back to my auto-save and I have to re-record again or I lose 50 minutes of game time and recording time because I accidently torched a door that I was supposed to go in for my goal and now it just won’t open. This is becoming a little tiresome at this point.

Gems of War – 86%

This game has so many updates, and I’m glad that the developers care that much about this game that they keep improving it, but I wish they would just cut it with the trophies. It’s bad enough that I’m still trying to catch up on DLC trophies that more trophies keep getting added and one of them is purely luck based. Anyway, I will apparently continue to play this game until the end of time because that’s how long it’s going to take to get all of the trophies.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 – 57%

One trophy for this game for completing adventure mode level 5. This made me think that getting the last few trophies would be easy, but it turns out it’s not as I have to go back to unlock the final level of adventure mode 6 and pick up a bunch of stars that I missed. This is no cake walk and I’m not even sure if I can do it.

The Sims 4 – 23%

I had the urge to play this game again this week and I did because I was tired of BioShock glitching as much as it did. Turned out it was a good decision as I was able to get two trophies pretty easily. I always enjoy this game and even though it has been patched a few times, it still kind of runs like crap when you have more than three people living in a house.

That was it for this week, a total of 16 trophies. Better than my last few weeks even though it’s not a lot. Now for next week, I have no idea how it’s going to go since I have to be an adult for basically the whole week. Kind of sucks. Anyway, I’ll try to get some more BioShock in, get some more Gems of War in, and try to play more of The Sims 4. I also want to try and finish up some games before Far Cry 5 comes out later this month, but we’ll see how that goes.

This Week in Trophies 01-14-2018 – 01-20-2018

This week was a pretty interesting week trophy wise as I didn’t get many, it seems these days I usually don’t, but I was able to finish a game. I didn’t get the platinum trophy yet, but I am one step closer. I also learned a little bit more about a game that I’ve been playing and started a new game that I bought on sale. Take a look at my trophy breakdown below.

Assassin’s Creed Origins – 57%

I finally finished this games main story! I’m so proud of myself since this is the first Assassin’s Creed that I’ve actually finished since Black Flag. I thought it started off really slow but got more exciting as the game basically ended in this four hour long mission which just blew my mind. It had this bitter sweet ending and showed how the Assassin’s Order was created only raising even more questions than answering. Anyway, I’m eager to see where Assassin’s Creed goes after this and am eager to finish up my remaining trophies and get the platinum for this game.

Cities: Skylines – 7%

I’m slowly getting the hang of this game and am trying to play it while I have some free time. I’m pretty sure that I’m going to have to restart my city though because for some reason no one has any power even though I have a bunch of power plants and stuff. Sigh. Another city ruined under my rulership.

Doom – 18%

This game was an absolute pain this week as I basically rage quit one of my streaming sessions. Not my best moment again, but I died over and over again for an hour straight and basically said screw this. I will be going back to this game this upcoming week, and at least I was able to get a trophy out of it.

Gems of War – 89%

This is one of those games that I play every single day for Guild purposes and it finally paid off because I was able to get a guild trophy which was nice. I’m still stuck playing this game though as I try to get the even more DLC trophies that seem to get added with each update. This game really isn’t as fun as it once was.

UNO – 9%

I picked this game up along with a few others on sale this past week and started playing this weekend. The online portion is filled with sore losers who will quit on you at any moment, but I have to thank LMD who also picked this game up because it was cheap and decided to play with me.

And that was it, a total of 14 trophies for the week. Not bad and I did finish off Assassin’s Creed Origins, only having to go back for some random trophies now. Other than that, I’m pretty pleased with myself and for the upcoming week I’ll be playing some more Assassin’s Creed Origins, Doom, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, UNO, and the new Episode of Batman: The Enemy Within. I’ll let you know how things turn out next week.

This Couple of Weeks in Trophies 09-03-2017 – 09-16-2017

Thanks to Hurricane Irma, Spectrum, storm cleanup, job stuff, real life stuff, and that’s about all I can add onto this pile of shit at the moment, I haven’t been able to tell you about my trophies. Can you even believe that I was able to get any trophies during this amount of time? I sure as hell can’t. While I was one of the lucky few who had to go without power for a day, there was this whole thing where my internet didn’t come up to a stable connection for about a week and to be honest I’m not even sure that it’s still working properly. Anyway, I was able to get some trophies so let’s take a look at them.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy – 84%

Needless to say that before Hurricane Irma I was working on getting the platinum trophy for this game. I was working so damn hard too. It’s amazing, but all that came to a halt when it was time to get ready for the hurricane. I’m pretty close to completing this game and I think I just need a day or two to do so.

Sunflowers – 57%

Unless you are super lucky, like some people I know, you are bound to lose power sometimes in the middle of the storm. Usually around the worst part of the storm which really sucks because no one wants to listen to the wind howling outside or the constant tornado warnings that go off on your phone and radio. This is when I like to hook up my PS Vita to make the time go by quicker because if not it’s like time stands still. Anyway, this was one of the games that I played during the storm and got a trophy for. Because my Vita wasn’t updated properly it completely threw off my timestamps since it couldn’t generate one and basically screwed up my PSNprofiles data. At least it kept me calm during the storm though.

Sonic Mania – 19%

Not many games actually work without being connected to the internet, but luckily Sonic Mania is one of them so I was able to get some more playtime in with this game as I went without internet for as long as I did. Even though I was only able to get one trophy, I have to say that I wasn’t really concentrating on the trophies as I was just trying to get my mind off of everything.

Gems of War – 91%

So there was another update to this game with more trophies, God when will they stop(!), and I was able to get one of the trophies when my internet came up for a brief amount of time before crashing again. Gotta love Spectrum who were just so amazing during this whole time, from their super nasty technical support team, to their super slow time getting things up and running again only to have them crash and burn. Thanks Spectrum, you made things so much easier throughout this whole process.

Monopoly Plus – 100%

After the week that I had, I just needed a win and I needed some easy trophies to make me feel better about almost everything. Anyway, I was able to get all the trophies for this game and you’ll have my full review in the upcoming weeks as my reviews are also on backlog at the moment.

That was it for this past couple of weeks. Now for the upcoming week, I really want that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy platinum and I’m going to try and get it. While I do that I’m going to be playing Gems of War, Sonic Mania, and I might start a new game depending on whether or not Hurricane Maria decides to stop by and just flip everyone’s lives upside down once more.
