This Week in Trophies 04-03-2015 – 04-09-2016

Although I was able to get a platinum trophy this week, other than that it was a pretty boring trophy week so this is going to be a pretty quick blog. I will tell you the reason why this week is so boring and lackluster. It wasn’t because I wasn’t gaming, because believe me I was, it was mostly because I spent the day Sunday playing the original Mass Effect and the last two days of the week playing the Battleborn Open Beta. Anyway, here’s what I did get this week.

Bully – 100%

I finally got the platinum trophy for this game this week. I didn’t really think it would take me as long as it did, but the last trophy required a real grind as I tried to save up enough money to buy every single piece of clothing in the game. Other than that I had a great time revisiting this game and I’ll have my full review for this game in a few weeks.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare – 73%

I picked up three more trophies for this game this week and believe me getting this last trophies is no easy feat. I’m pretty sure I won 25 matches of Gardens & Graveyards, but I still don’t have the trophy for it which is weird. Anyway, part of me is completely bored with this game and the other part of me wants to get the 100% and the platinum trophy for this game so we’ll have to see where this goes.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden WarfarePlants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare

That was it for this week. Not that exciting and I’m going to say that it wasn’t that bad because I did get a platinum trophy. No week can be a bad one when a platinum trophy is involved. Now for next week, I’m going to be devoting a full day to Mass Effect since I really got into it last week and actually got a lot accomplished. At least I think I did, but that’s beside the point, the point is that I’m rediscovering the game which is always fun when you take a break from a game that you love. Other than that I really have no idea what I’m going to play this week. I have a ton of games that I could finish, but I’ve been getting that itch to start something new and I might just do that but I just don’t know what. I’ll let you know how things go next week.

Weekly Trophy Tip – Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare – Snaretastic

So it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, which means I guess they really aren’t weekly trophy tips anymore. I’m going to try to get something posted each week though, it’s just been hard and I’ve been uninspired when it comes to writing trophy tips, but there was something about this trophy that I just had to write about so here you go.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare – Snaretastic
As a Chomper, Swallow 10 Snared Zombies in a session- Bronze
TIP: What’s so great about this trophy is it’s all really in the wording. While most of these character based trophies are based on playing against other players, this one is not which makes it so great. Let’s just take a look at the wording for a moment. It says to swallow 10 snared ZOMBIES in a session. Zombies is the key word here because the zombie doesn’t have to be another playing it can just be a regular AI zombie. So how can you get this trophy then? Simple, start a game of garden ops and plan on private. Set the settings to easy and play by yourself. Of course choose the Chomper, making sure you have the setting up the traps ability in the first place, and place down your traps around the garden that you plant. Wait for the AI zombies to get caught up in them and swallow them. Do this 10 times in the course of your session and the trophy is yours.

Have anything additional to add to my tip? Let me know in the comments section below and I’ll add it in and give you credit. Need help with a specific trophy? I’m always looking for my next weeks tip so throw out some suggestions in the comments section. If I have the trophy I’ll post a tip on how to get it.

This Week in Trophies 03-20-2016 – 03-26-2016

This was one of my rare weeks in trophy hunting. I was able to play a lot of games and I got a lot of trophies by doing so. Not that I’m complaining since the past couple of weeks have been lackluster, but the real question is will this streak continue. Probably not, but anyway here’s a look at the trophies I did get this week.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare – 68%

I started out playing this game last week for some pretty complicated reasons, and this week I continued to play but for different reasons. Playing this game also lead to some much needed closure on a lingering issue making my original reason for playing not all that bad if you think about it. Anyway, enough with boring you about that. I’m still missing a bunch of trophies that I have no idea if I’ll get or not, but I’ll probably continue to try. As a side note, I’m looking for a team to play Garden Ops CRAZY mode on, so if you’re interested let me know in the comments section below.

Gauntlet – 24%

Damn this game on hard is well…hard. I struggled to make it through the caves section of this game, and that was with a full team of people. I’ll continue to play when I can, but I am not looking forward to the last section of the game. I had a hard time defeating the main boss when it was on Normal so I have no idea what Hard is going to be like.

Gauntlet

Bully – 35%

Finally! My most wanted PS2 game has come to the PS4 with trophies, and I am having just an absolute blast playing it. This was a day one purchase for me and there was no way that it wouldn’t be. I can’t remember how many times I played this game when I played it on the PS2, but I can say that it was easy to get back into playing it again and almost dropping everything this week to do so.

Fallout 4 – 85%

I picked up this game again because I have the season pass and got the much anticipated Automatron DLC. Overall I would say that the DLC is a little lackluster story wise and I would be writing a full review if I didn’t run into one major complication that is totally my fault. So what complication did I run into? I’m at the final boss battle, which is no picnic, and I have no ammo. Yep…completely out of ammo and left with only my melee weapons. Why not just start from your last save then right? Because this moron saved over her last save right before the main boss battle. I’m pretty sure I have a backup save before that, but I got so pissed I didn’t bother looking for it. I’ll try again this week…or I’ll have to start the game over again from scratch.

Fallout 4 Fallout 4Fallout 4 Fallout 4Fallout 4 Fallout 4

The Four Kings Casino and Slots – 23%

The only reason why I still play this game is because I need something to do while I eat breakfast and this is it. I’m sure these trophies will come when they come and I’m really not all that concerned about them. I think that I’m just not that into this game because I’m not really a gambler because I don’t see the point, I thought it would be different with fake money but it’s not. I’m still not a fan of gambling.

Four Kings Casino and Slots

And that was it for this week. A pretty exciting week. I got a lot done by playing a bunch of games and it was nice to have that extra time this week to sit back and relax in order to do so. Although I hope next week will be the same, you just never know. I will say that if I get a bunch of time to game I am going to continue with Bully as well as try and look for that backup save in Fallout 4. If I can find the backup save everything will be just peachy. If not, I’m not sure I’m going to be starting a new game any time soon and I’ll probably wait until the next DLC comes out. I’ll let you know next week how things went.

This Week in Trophies 03-13-2016 – 03-19-2016

This sad little week in trophies, I was only able to get 9 trophies. 9! I couldn’t even make it to double digits this week as life took over, like it normally does, and things just didn’t work out all that well for me gaming. I will admit that at times it’s pretty frustrating since all my brain seems to be screaming is “VIDEO GAMES!”, but that always doesn’t work out. Anyway, here are the sad little 9 trophies that I was able to get this week.

Gauntlet – 23%

Even though this game is no Diablo, I’m really liking it and liking my time playing. I’m doing a mixture of trying to finish the game on hard and try to get to level 50 in endless mode. Both are proving to be difficult, but I like the challenge.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare – 61%

I picked this game up again this week because…while I would like to say that I did so that I could get the platinum and be ready for when I eventually buy Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, that’s really not the case. The reason is long and complicated and I’m sure no one is coming to this blog to read about that. Anyway, I was able to get a few missing trophies and I might even eventually get the platinum. When I can connect, the servers are still pretty active which is surprising.

So that’s it for this week, nothing to really brag about or get all excited about. At least it’s something though, and I do want to remind everyone that now that you can search for communities on the PS4, that the 1BrokeGamerGirl community is up for anyone wanting to join and play some games. Also…I’m starting to plan the first community challenge for over the summer, so now might be a good time to join. For this upcoming week, I expect more of the same with a little Fallout 4 thrown in because the new DLC comes out on Tuesday. This should hopefully be a little bit more exciting week game wise but as always we’ll see how things go and I’ll let you know how things went next week.

This Week in Trophies 05-24-2015 – 05-30-2015

This turned out to be a pretty decent week trophy wise with the release of the latest Game of Thrones episode. Not to mention that the Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC Jaws of Hakkon was finally released on the PS4. I also started my Sparkle 2 playthrough on the PS3 and continued to play Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. I even started a new PS4 game after I kinda gave up on The Witcher 3 by the end of the week. Here’s how my week played out for me.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare – 57%

While I’m not even close to getting this platinum trophy, I haven’t really been playing this game to get the platinum trophy anyway. I just really enjoy playing and it’s a nice break from playing The Witcher 3 which unfortunately I’ve given up on at the moment. It’s nice to pick up random trophies for this game here and there.

Game of Thrones – 62%

The release of a new episode was surprising, but not unwelcome. Although I would have rather had a new Tales from the Borderlands episode, this episode was decent enough and I’ll have my review posted here sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Game of Thrones: Episode 4 Game of Thrones: Episode 4Game of Thrones: Episode 4 Game of Thrones: Episode 4Game of Thrones: Episode 4 Game of Thrones: Episode 4Game of Thrones: Episode 4 Game of Thrones: Episode 4

Dragon Age: Inquisition – 100%

The wait for the DLC for this game was long and I was eager to play this DLC as soon as I got it. It took me roughly 7 hours to play and even though I enjoyed it, I kind of regretted paying the $15 for it especially when I could have picked up some pretty sweet sales in the PS store this week for the same price.

Sparkle 2 – 33%

I’m really enjoying playing this game again on the PS3 this time. Even though I’m enjoying it, I can see some noticeable differences between the three versions. I’m pretty dedicated to continuing to play through this game when I get some spare time here and there.

Far Cry 4 – 6%

So I started playing this game because not only have I had it from release day, but I’m also kinda done with The Witcher 3 for the moment. I plan to just put it on the shelf and continue it at another time to see if I can get into it better then I am at the moment. So far I’m really enjoying Far Cry 4. I can see where the game is very similar to Far Cry 3 and I’m not sure if Far Cry 2 or Far Cry classic is the same, but that doesn’t make it a bad game.

Far Cry 4 Far Cry 4Far Cry 4 Far Cry 4Far Cry 4

That was it for this week. I would say that this week was pretty decent especially since the month is over. With The Witcher 3 being out of the picture at the moment I’ll probably spend my gaming time playing Far Cry 4 as well as Plants Vs. Zombies every now and again and finishing up Sparkle 2 sometime soon.

This Week In Trophies 05-10-2015 – 05-23-2015

This edition of this week in trophies is totally supersized since it includes last weeks trophies as well. After a week of feeling like absolute crap, it’s nice to finally start feeling better and getting back to doing what I love, which is gaming. While I didn’t even touch my PS3 or PS4 while I was sick, I have to say that my PS Vita became my best friend this week as I carried it just about everywhere I went and spent some major time playing between bouts of passing out from the over load of medication I was taking and watching many many reruns of The Facts of Life. Here’s how the past two weeks treated me.

The Unfinished Swan – 100%

I finished this game up early in the first week and was really glad to have done so. I didn’t get that much enjoyment out of the game as a whole and I’ll be posting my full review later this week for the game. Let’s just say though, that I’m glad it’s over and I don’t plan to play this game on any other platform.

The Handsome Collection – Borderlands 2 – 100%

Even though I got the platinum for this a couple of weeks ago now, I just really wanted to finish this game up completely and get the 100%. I worked pretty hard farming to finish up some left over DLC quests and a couple of other things along the way. I’m just glad that it’s done and I have a new 100% game to add to my collection.

Borderlands 2 Borderlands 2Borderlands 2

Don’t Starve: Console Edition – 28%

I started playing this game again as I waited for The Witcher 3 to come in. I started this game a long time ago, probably when it was free for PS+, and just forgot about it afterwards. I’m glad that I started playing this game again and hopefully some day I’ll be able to get the 100% on it.

Pure Pool – 55%

While I am in no way going for the platinum trophy for this game, I do like to pick it up time to time between games and just play when I have some free time. Any trophies that I get are just an added bonus.

Pure Pool Pure Pool

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare – 44%

This was just another game that was sitting on my system that I decided to play while waiting for The Witcher 3 to be released. I did actually enjoy picking this game up and playing again since it had been a while. Who knew that I was so close to getting so many trophies if I had just kept playing. Anyway, I’m kind of addicted now and have continued to play this game on and off.

Sparkle 2 – 100%

While I was sick, I finally finished up the Vita version of Sparkle 2. It took me way longer then I expected since I would constantly fall asleep while I played, but at least I got it done. I’ll probably start the PS3 version some time this week.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – 1%

I finally got around to playing this game and so far…I’m not really sure how I feel about it. I encountered a couple of problems actually trying to get the game to start, which is just a bunch of absolute crap because how can you not notice that your game isn’t loading during QA testing, and I’ve had a couple of other problems along the way as well. I’ll be giving this game another chance though as I continue to play through the story a little more.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Fat Princess: Piece of Cake – 55%

Another game that I just started playing again after I finished with Sparkle 2 on the PS Vita. I didn’t really realize how close I was to the 100% and only have a few more trophies to go. I’ll probably continue to play this game just to get the 100% and delete from my system to clear up some memory.

Murasaki Baby – 100%

Another Vita game that I started when I was feeling just a little bit better and was pretty sure that I wasn’t going to pass out while playing. I played the whole thing in one sitting and got all the trophies. I’ll have my full review of the game in a few weeks.

So there you have it, all of my trophies for the past two weeks. What a crazy couple of weeks and I’ll be looking forward to things getting back to normal. As I play The Witcher 3 a little bit more, I’m sure next weeks trophies will be a little lighter since the trophies for The Witcher 3 seems to be very sparse, but you never know.
