I bought this game because it looked super easy and it looked like an easy way to get some trophies and to get some use out of my neglected PS Vita. It was also a cross-buy so If I didn’t like it on my PS Vita I would be able to play on my PS3. Win-win right? Wrong. I never finished this game so keep reading to find out why.
Dragon Fantasy Book I, tells three different stories. The first story is about Ogden who is a washed up hero who wants to get back to doing what he does best which is being a hero. The other stores are about…I have no idea because I barely got past the first one. Anyway, this whole game is basically a 16 bit turn based RPG and I know I only played the first story, but I’m thinking the whole game is like that too. The other three stories involve other characters with other problems, from what I’ve heard, and the last story is one that’s dedicated to Minecraft. So there you have it.
I have to say that I love RPG games. They are my favorite genre of games and I absolutely adore them. This one though. Not so much. I really couldn’t get into the game and had an extremely hard time completing the first chapter of this game. Maybe it was the 16 bit style, or maybe it was just because I felt like I would always get locked into battle no matter what I was doing. For that reason I finished up the first story and then tried to get into the second story, but just couldn’t. I’ve tried multiple times over the years too, but never with any success as I’ve tried to play it again on my PS Vita and on my PS3. I thought that changing the system would help, but it didn’t. Since I could never really get into this game no matter what platform I played on, that’s why I never finished it.
As you can see from the trophy snapshot above, I was able to get a total of a sad and pathetic 3 out of the 12 trophies there are for this game. This is sad because the rest of the trophies are super easy and there’s nothing hard about them, you just have to play the game which I just can’t seem to do. This really just sucks and I hate that I can’t go back and get those 9 trophies that I’m missing no matter what I do.
Probability of this game getting played again…1 out of 5.
While I really want to complete this game and get it off my backlog and never finished list, I don’t see it happening. I’ve basically given up on this game because I’ve tried to play it so many times and failed. It’s just not happening. Period. I really wish I could finish it though so that has to count for something right?
Now it’s your turn. Did you love this game? Hate it? Which system did you play it on? Let me know down in the comments section below. Now for next week, a big entry in my I never finished series. I say big because this game was the first out of many that I was able to complete the whole story and was working on getting the platinum trophy for because I played for weeks, but it just didn’t happen. Anyway, I’ll go into the whole story next week and let you know why I never finished Grand Theft Auto V.
