This Week in Trophies 07-23-2017 – 07-29-2017

This was a crazy week, lately it seems like which week’s aren’t crazy, but I tried to get in as much gaming time as possible. With it being close to the end of the month, I really didn’t want to start any new games. Shocking I know, but I wanted to go back and try to finish up some games. I did get a platinum trophy, and if you keep reading you can see which trophy it was for and how the rest of my week went.

Lara Croft GO – 100%

I finally finished this game and got the platinum trophy. While it didn’t take that long, only a couple of weeks, it kind of felt like it took forever to finish this game. Anyway, when I finish a game I don’t like to talk too much about it here. You can find my full review of this game up on Wednesday.

Rise of the Tomb Raider – 23%

To be honest, I really didn’t want to play this game this week. I put in my disc for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls when it told me that an updated was needed. Instead of waiting for the update, I took the disc out and put this disc in instead. I swear with this game though every single time I think I’m close to the game ending, it feels like it just starts all over again. I have no idea what’s going on, but I did enjoy my time playing.

Pure Pool – 54%

I started playing this game again this week because I needed something quick to be able to play at night after work and I really couldn’t find another game that I wanted to play. I was able to rack up a decent amount of trophies for this game this week and was pleasantly surprised. I’m not sure if I’ll keep playing in the weeks to come, but it was fun while it lasted.

And that was it for the week. Not bad, but not that good either. This upcoming week is going to be a complete mess but I’m hoping to play some Gems of War, if Guild Wars starts up again, and then on Tuesday I’ll be playing The Long Dark which is a game that I’ve been looking forward to for the past few weeks. Other than that I have no idea what’s going to happen so I’ll let you know how everything goes next week.

This Week in Trophies 07-09-2017 – 07-15-2017

There were a lot of things going on this week that I feel like I didn’t even get a chance to game. From a messed up work schedule to a much needed tattoo appointment, time wasn’t really on my side this week which was just perfect because I decided I was going to start a new game and of course not even finish it. Anyway, onto the trophies.

Rise of the Tomb Raider – 20%

I thought this game was over when I played it this week, but apparently it’s not. I think I’m at the end now, I’m probably wrong again, but there still feels like there’s a lot to do. I do enjoy the time that I play, but I just can’t seem to be eager to start up that game every time I start my PS4. It’s kind of like, I sit there for a little while staring at my PS4 screen, sigh and then put the game in. Then I end up enjoying my playtime. I still don’t know what to think about this game is what it all comes down to.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – 21%

I’m still really enjoying my time playing this game and play whenever I have a decent amount of time to play which wasn’t a lot this week. I was able to get past act II though and move onto act III. I’m right in the middle of act III and it shouldn’t be long before I finish the game itself. Getting the platinum trophy is a whole other story though as the first time I did it, it took me three months. With the different trophies for this game, I’m sure it’s going to take a hell of a lot longer than that plus there are a bunch of new games coming out next month that I’m eager to start playing.

Lara Croft GO – 25%

I picked this game up on sale last week and decided to start it this week. I finished with the first two levels, but it’s taking a little while to go through as I make video’s for this game as I go. You can see the first two level’s completely done on my YouTube channel if you’re looking for a walkthrough. So far I’m liking his a lot more than Hitman GO, which I played and reviewed. You can read the full review of Hitman GO, here. Like everything else, I’ll continue to play but it’s going to take a while because sometimes making video’s isn’t an easy thing to do.

AdVenture Capitalist – 42%

It seems like forever since I last played this game and got anything out of it. Anyone else playing this game feel like that? I really just want to finish this damn game and get it over with but the trophies are just annoying and grindy, which is what you get for a free game that you don’t want to spend any actual money on. Not to mention that this game is glitchy as hell and randomly doesn’t start or makes my PS4 do a hard shutdown. Not fun.

That was it for this week. Nothing compared to last week, but at least it was something. Now for this upcoming week. I plan to try and finish up Lara Croft GO and if I do my remaining video’s will be up on YouTube next Saturday. If not, I’ll upload what I have and go from there. I also plan on playing some more Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, Gems of War, and Rise of the Tomb Raider. I might throw a new game in there depending on how I feel and I’ll let you know how everything works out next week.

This Week in Trophies 06-25-2017 – 07-01-2017

This was a good week for gaming. At least I feel like it was a good week for gaming. My trophy breakdown kind of reflects it, but I’m also at one of those points where I play a lot, but I’m not really close to getting any trophies because they require an insane amount of work to actually get them and I’m working on it. Makes sense right? Anyway, here’s a breakdown of how my week went.

Gems of War – 90%

I’m almost finished with the “main” trophy list and once I do I’ll have a review for the game as a whole, but I feel that it’s really not worth it to write a blog for each and every update because nothing about the main game actually changes that dramatically. There basically just updates that tack on another three trophies. Anyway, I’ll keep playing this as I’m now invested in Guild Wars and I finally have my Guild up to 30 active members. Go Guild!

Gems of War

Dungeon Defenders II – 52%

Not like the first Dungeon Defenders at all, it’s still an ok game if I could actually get it to work on the first try. It takes me about 10-15 minutes to log in and when I do I am stuck at one of the levels. Completely stuck and no matter what I do I cannot beat this one damn level. I played for a few hours this past week, but became extremely frustrated and eventually stopped. I’ll try this game again during the week to see if I can advance any.

Killing Floor 2 – 22%

Although this game is basically do this, rinse and repeat, I’m having a pretty good time when I play. It’s not one of those games that I could play for hours upon hours, but it’s a nice game to play when I’m limited on time. Once you get the hang of the game and how the weapons and classes operate it’s really not that bad. It’s not that great either, but you know how it is.

Killing Floor 2 Killing Floor 2Killing Floor 2

Rise of the Tomb Raider – 15%

I finished the Baba Yaga DLC this week, just the main story not the rest of the stuff that comes with it, and will continue to play although it’s kind of lost it’s interest for me. I don’t really know the direction in which the game is going and although the story line is an easy one to follow, I have no idea what I’m doing half the time. I thought the Baba Yaga DLC was a pretty decent DLC as it told the tale of an old Slavic folklore, but if I had to pay for it I would have been disappointed at the length.

Rise of the Tomb Raider Rise of the Tomb RaiderRise of the Tomb Raider

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – 6%

I started this game yesterday after asking for a suggestion on twitter and getting a response from @aaronmorrsi1995. This isn’t my first time playing Diablo III since I played on the PS3 and even have the platinum. This time around is different though as it has a bunch of new stuff added in and so far I’m enjoying playing an old favorite of mine.

That was it for this week. Not a bad week by far and at least I got to start a new game. Now for the upcoming week, I have some extra time off for work. Thank you random holidays, which means I’ll also have more time to game. This is never a bad thing. I plan on continuing to play the games that I’ve been playing, Gems of War, Killing Floor 2, Dungeon Defenders II, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. Even though I wanted to play a new game last week though and I did, I still have that need to play something else now that all of my games have finally been added into my PS4. I’m hitting the 2TB mark with everything so I’m thinking the 8TB external drive was a good thing. Will I start something new? You’ll have to come back next week to find out.

This Week in Trophies 06-18-2017 – 06-24-2017

With work being easy as pie this week and my web design client being taken care of about mid week after the disaster last week, this left me the perfect opportunity to game as much as possible this week and I totally did. I felt like I played more games this week than I have in a while and it actually felt good. Without even knowing it I hit my milestone 7,500th trophy this week which I really still can’t believe. I didn’t stop there and powered on though so keep reading to see how I did this week.

Abzu – 100%

I finally finished this game this week! One more game that was removed in my ever growing backlog. As always though, I’ll be giving you my full review of this game so come back Wednesday to hear about my experience with the game and what I thought about it.

Killing Floor 2 – 18%

So the servers for this game absolutely suck and it seems I can never get into a game, but when I do I usually spend anywhere from 30 minutes to about an hour and a half playing this game. It’s not a bad game, but it’s not a great game either. I do enjoy just sitting there and playing without having to actually think and that’s one of the things that draws me to this game.

Gems of War – 88%

With the new patch for this game, came new trophies and I was like Ugh. I’ve been playing this game daily because of the guild wars, but have now played even more as I try to finish up this ever growing trophy list which just seems impossible. The good news is that I did finish all of the new patched in trophies, which were just a bunch of crap really since they were just add-on’s to previous trophies.

Gems of War Gems of WarGems of War

Rise of the Tomb Raider – 14%

I’ve been slowly making my way through this game for the past few weeks, really wishing that I had played Diablo III instead, but I’m making some progress. Or at least I think I’m making progress. With this game I really have no idea. Anyway, when I do play I enjoy the time that I play, but I’m still not sure about this game. Am I close to the end, am I not close to the end? I have no idea as I’ve now been sucked into some DLC stuff. Anyway, I’ll keep powering through to see how it goes.

Rise of the Tomb Raider Rise of the Tomb RaiderRise of the Tomb Raider

Dungeon Defenders II – 23%

I downloaded and started this game this week because it was free and I really loved the original Dungeon Defenders. I spent hours upon hours playing the original with some former friends and I thought that this game would breathe some new life and give me some new memories, but so far I’m not that into it. I’ll keep playing to finish up the trophies and stuff, but it just isn’t as good as the original which I do miss playing because someone had to shut off the servers.

Dungeon Defenders II Dungeon Defenders IIDungeon Defenders II

And that was it for this week. A pretty productive week, and I kind of plan on next week being the same thing. I plan on continuing my Rise of the Tomb Raider playthrough, get some Killing Floor 2 in when I can, and play some more Dungeon Defenders II to finish the game up. It is the end of the month so I am a little weary about starting a new game, but you never know because when I get that itch of wanting to start something new, it just can’t be stopped. I’ll let you know how things turn out next week.

This Week in Trophies 06-11-2017 – 06-17-2017

I’m going to be honest and say that this week basically just sucked when it came to trophies. I really had absolutely no time to play because of real world problems. Not only do I work one of those super adult desk job type jobs which makes me think every once in a while, when did I get so old, but I also do some freelance Web Design and Development. While I thought I would have a nice week of playing video games when I was done with my job, turns out the freelance stuff wasn’t so easy this time around as one of the sites I manage had the shit hit the fan and it was up to me to clean it up. Anyway, I did manage to get some gaming in and here’s what I was able to get.

Abzu – 50%

I finished up the main story to this game and am now going back to get the trophies that I missed. I have to say that I really enjoyed this underwater Journey game and by the end felt a deep connection to the game that I didn’t think I would feel. I’ll get into that more once I eventually finish it and write the review, but for now that’s all you’re getting.

ABZÛ ABZÛABZÛ ABZÛABZÛ

Rise of the Tomb Raider – 12%

I never knew it would take this much time to play a Tomb Raider game. Time was not on my side this week and I was barely able to play this game because of my lack of time. I’m kind of enjoying my time playing, but the jury is still out on this game and I think I’m towards the end so I don’t know what to think.

Rise of the Tomb Raider Rise of the Tomb Raider

Killing Floor 2 – 2%

Why did I start this game this week? Two reasons, one because it was recommended to me and two because I was having such a frustrating day that I needed something that was mindless and fun in order to relax. Mission accomplished on both ends. While I can’t see myself getting lost in this game, I can see myself going back every once in a while to have some mindless fun.

Killing Floor 2 Killing Floor 2

And that was it for this week. I’m thinking that this upcoming week is going to be more of the same because I still have some Web Site stuff to figure out and my clients are a pain in the ass. Pro-tip from a seasoned Web Designer, never ever do stuff for so-called “friends.” It doesn’t work out. EVER. And if something goes wrong you’re always to blame even if you aren’t. Anyway, back to the gaming stuff. I’m hoping I can finish Abzu this week while continuing to play Rise of the Tomb Raider and some Killing Floor 2 when I have the chance. Chances are that I won’t be starting anything new any time soon, but you never know. I’ll let you know how my week turns out next week.

This Week in Trophies 06-04-207 – 06-10-2017

After a few lackluster weeks, I really felt like I had to amp it up with the trophy hunting because there are a bunch of games in my backlog and I really want to finish them up and move on. Anyway, I feel like I did a good job. Not dragging this out, let’s see what trophies I actually did get this week.

MouseCraft – 100%

I took most of the day last Sunday to finish this game up and had a really great time doing so. Like always, I’ll have my full review posted within the next couple of weeks to let you know what I really thought about the game.

MouseCraft MouseCraftMouseCraft MouseCraftMouseCraft MouseCraftMouseCraft MouseCraftMouseCraft MouseCraftMouseCraft

Rise of the Tomb Raider – 11%

I started this game this week after a big debate of if I was going to play this game or Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. So far, I think it’s ok. It’s not the greatest Tomb Raider game, but it’s not the worst either. I’m still not far enough into it to actually judge it, but I am playing it when I can.

Rise of the Tomb Raider Rise of the Tomb RaiderRise of the Tomb Raider Rise of the Tomb RaiderRise of the Tomb Raider Rise of the Tomb RaiderRise of the Tomb Raider Rise of the Tomb RaiderRise of the Tomb Raider Rise of the Tomb RaiderRise of the Tomb Raider Rise of the Tomb RaiderRise of the Tomb Raider Rise of the Tomb RaiderRise of the Tomb Raider

Abzu – 15%

I also started playing this game this week because I like having those smaller games to play along with the big games since I’m never sure how much time I’m going to have to game. Anyway, I’m kind of liking this under water Journey like game even though the controls are a little tricky and at the moment I’m not sure what the whole point of the game is.

ABZÛ ABZÛABZÛ

And that was it for this week. Not bad trophy wise, and I did get a lot of game play in so I’m a happy camper. This upcoming week, I plan on finishing Abzu as well as continuing my journey with Rise of the Tomb Raider in order to see where that leads me. Going off topic for a moment, I didn’t realize that Rise of the Tomb Raider has 125 trophies. Seriously? That’s a lot of trophies. Anyway, I’ll probably also be starting Killing Floor 2 because Matt @TheAlbumWeb has told me how absolutely wonderful this game is despite the fact that the trailer looks like crap. I’ll let you know next week if Matt was right about Killing Floor 2 and what other trophies I was able to get.

Rise of the Tomb Raider an Xbox One Exclusive

Seriously? Not that smart of a move on behalf of Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics. Reports are coming in from everywhere that the PS4 is out selling the Xbox one 3 to 1, so what’s the first thing you do? Give your next state of the art Tomb Raider game exclusively to the losing company. That makes no sense coming from a third party company who previously released the first reboot of this franchise to all consoles.

This sudden surge of third party companies giving exclusives to certain consoles makes no sense to me what so ever. As a third party company why would you want to limit who you sell your game to? I can understand both Playstation and Xbox having exclusive games from first party companies because of ownership. I would never expect games like Uncharted or The Last of Us be available on Xbox One.

By doing this you not only limit who you sell your game to but you limit the amount of money you’ll be making. Do you guys just not like money? Or have enough of it that you can say “Fuck it, we’ll only give our game to half of the people that want it.” This is just plain stupid. Why make less money when you can make more?

Also, do you not care about your already existing fan base that plays Tomb Raider on Playstation? How can you say that these fans no longer matter to you and if they want to play your game they’ll have to bow down and buy and Xbox One. I’m usually not pissed when games like Titan Fall get to be Xbox One exclusives, and do you know why? Because it’s a new IP. I’ve never played it before and I’m not going to get disappointed that I can’t play it now since it’s new. I am pissed however that Tomb Raider now gets to be an Xbox One exclusive because it’s something that I’ve been playing on Playstation for the longest time. Like many people out there I’ve played every single Tomb Raider game that was available all the way back to my PS1 days.

Tomb Raider

With this new era of the Tomb Raider franchise and Lara Croft, I was super excited. It gave me a chance to play something familiar yet new at the same time. I actually enjoyed the most recent Tomb Raider game in the franchise and enjoyed learning of Lara’s origins. When Rise of the Tomb Raider was first announced at E3, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Now? Now I’m just disappointed.

So now I’ll say thank you Tomb Raider for all the very fond memories that you’ve brought me over the years. I hope you guys at Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics know what your doing because you just lost not only a hell of a lot of sales, but a big majority of your fan base. I for one will not be getting an Xbox One just to get this game and I know many other people won’t be doing this either.
