This Week in Trophies 02-28-2016 – 03-05-2016

After last week’s surge of trophies, I thought this week would pretty much be the same, but damn was I completely wrong. Life mostly got in the way this week and I wasn’t able to get that much done, but I was able to get a new platinum trophy so that has to count for something. Anyway, here’s a breakdown of my trophies for the week.

Taco Master – 100%

That’s right, platinum trophy # 52 came this week from Taco Master for the PS Vita. It was the first PS Vita game that I played in a while and over the past week I got some pretty good use out of that system. I’ll have my full review of the game up in a few weeks to let you know what I thought of it.

Mad Max – 28%

I am still slowly making my way through this game. Most of this is my fault because I really just can’t get into the game and it’s like I’m forcing myself to play. I just arrived in Pink Eye’s territory and I’m doing a few random missions here and there, but to me this game has just been one big scavenger hunt without any real substance. I’m still waiting for that WOW factor in the story.

Mad Max

Sparkle Unleashed – 52%

I finished the main quest for the first time on Normal and am now making my way through Hard difficulty before going on to Nightmare difficulty and then eventually going through the survival mode. Compared to the other Sparkle game that I played, I think that 10tons changed a little too much this time around and even though it’s a Sparkle game, it really isn’t the same. When I finish the game I’ll let you know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Sparkle Unleashed

Unravel – 73%

As frustrating as it is at times to go back and get through a level without dying, I’m still having a good time playing this game. I enjoy the different environments, I enjoy the overall story and message the game is delivering, and I enjoy playing as little Yarny.

So there you have it, all of my trophies for this week. Certinally nothing to brag about, but at least I did complete a game and get the platinum trophy doing so. That has to count for something. Hopefully life is less crazy this week and I can get back to some major gaming during my free time, but you never know. The only thing I would really like to accomplish this week is finishing up Unravel and getting the platinum trophy for it. Other than that I’m going to just go with the flow. I’ll let you know how things turned out next week.

This Week in Trophies 02-07-02-13-2016

I went a little crazy with the games this week. I jumped from game to game which is seriously unlike me, but the two days that I had to actually game just made my mind go crazy and I just wanted to play anything and everything. I’m hoping that this pattern doesn’t continue because I’ll never get anything done goal wise, but you never know. Anyway, here’s all of my trophies for the week.

Mad Max – 21%

I’m trying really really hard to get into the story of this game, but I think part of the problem is that I spend most of my time playing just wandering around collecting scrap and trying to clear each and every area in the game to lower the threat rating in each area. I’m still playing this game when I have more than a few hours to spare since you need it when it comes to this game, but the trophies are coming in slowly.

Mad Max

Sparkle Unleashed – 28%

I continued to play this sporadically this week when I had a few extra minutes here and there. I’m still not really sure what to think about this game yet. Like the other Sparkle games, it has a small story that goes with it, but I’m not sure if I’m liking the difference in gameplay just yet. I’ll continue to play the whole way through with an open mind before making my final decision.

Firewatch – 100%

I was extremely excited about this game when I first seen it at E3 so I grabbed it day one. I’m not going to say anything about it here, so you’ll have to wait for my review, which is coming up, to see what I actually thought about the game as a whole.

Star Wars Battlefront – 7%

So, I’m not even a Star Wars fan…or a multiplayer fan, but there was just something about this game that I had to have it. I am absolutely loving this game. There isn’t really a section of this game so far that I’m not liking. I know I probably won’t get the platinum for this game, but it’s not going to stop me from trying.

Unravel – 2%

Another game that I first took notice of at E3 and had to have day one. Even though I only got through two levels, I have to say that this game is absolutely beautiful. Not only graphic wise but story wise as well. I am loving this game along with its tough puzzles and super cute main character. I can’t wait to continue playing.

Unravel Unravel

And that was it for my random week of games and random trophies. I know the whole thing was crazy, but it is what it is. For the first time in weeks…maybe months, I really don’t have a plan when it comes to what games I’m playing. This week I’m just going to see how things go and go from there. I’ll let you know how things go next week.

This Week in Trophies 01-31-2016 – 02-06-2016

While I did get some trophies this week, believe me it was nothing spectacular, I did have something pretty awesome happen to me. Those of you who read this blog and also follow me on Twitter probably already seen it, but for those of you who didn’t, take a look:

God of War Contest

Pretty cool huh? While this kind of makes up for a less than exciting trophy week, I also am hating that I’ve been super busy with almost no time to game. Anyway, here are my trophies for the week.

Mad Max – 20%

I spent some time wandering around in Mad Max this week, which by the way has a ton of things to do. I mean the amount of time you spend looking for scrap is just crazy and deters you from actually playing the story which if you think about it, is less than mediocre. Anyway, I started the game and I want to finish it to the 100% so I’m going to keep going even if I couldn’t care less about the main story. I’m hoping something will come up making me enjoy the story at some point.

Mad Max Mad MaxMad Max

Sparkle Unleashed – 14%

I started this game this week mostly because on those days when I don’t have time to game, I HAVE TO GAME (my brain demands that I do) and since I don’t have a whole lot of time, this does it for me. This game is a complete 180 change from Sparkle 2 and I’m not really sure if I like the new style yet. I’ll have a better feel for things when I complete my first playthrough.

Lemmings Touch – 10%

I picked up this game this week for free thanks to PS+ and I figured since I haven’t used my vita for months, I would give it a try. I also used to play the original Lemmings on my NES and it was one of my favorites. I used to rent it from the local mom and pop video rental store, before Blockbuster came around and destroyed them, and played for hours. I have to admit though that I’m still getting used to the Vita version, mostly because the controls are sketchy at best and most of the time inaccurate. I’ll continue to play this game in my spare time.

So what’s in store for this week? Work…work…and more work. I’ve been on this pattern of get up, work, sleep, rinse and repeat for a couple of weeks now and I’m seeing a couple of more weeks of this in the future. So what does this mean for gaming? It means a hell of a lot less which makes me cranky, but I will try to get some Mad Max in and continue to try and finish Tearaway Unfolded. I’ll probably continue to play Sparkle Unleashed for those times when I can squeeze in 30 minutes or so of free time in my work day and I’ll try to get some Lemmings Touch in during some TV time. Other than that everything else is just going to have to wait. I’ll let you know if I found some kind of balance next week.
