Gaming Goals for the New Year – July 2015 – UPDATE

Another month, another step towards accomplishing this years gaming goals. Looking back at this past month, I have to say that even though I struggled some weeks, I only got three trophies one week, there were others that just shined and really helped me progress with my goals overall. With half the year already gone and only a few more months to go, I’m pretty happy with where I stand at the moment. Here’s how my month played out.

2015 Gaming Goals

Have 50 Platinum Trophies by the end of the year
– Starting # of Platinum Trophies: 40
– Ending # of Platinum Trophies: 41
A platinum trophy close to the end of the month was my saving grace for me this month and it was totally unexpected even though I was secretly hoping for it. With 9 more to go in order to reach my goal, I’m having a little trouble deciding what 9 games will make the list before the end of the year. I already know that I’ll be getting the platinum for Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands, but I’m at the point where I’m not really sure what else there will be. I’m sure I’ll figure something out though. I might start a couple of new games or go back and complete some games that need completing.

Have 6,000 overall Trophies
– Starting # of Trophies: 5,004
– Ending # of Trophies: 5,078
I know it’s kinda getting close to the end of the year and that 6,000 mark is looking like it’s further away then I originally thought but I’m still thinking that I can get it done before the end of the year. Playing this months free PS+ game, Rocket League, really helped out this month because those were some easy trophies and I got most of them in the matter of a week. Progressing in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel also helped along with a little help from Fallout 3 and a couple of other games that I played.

Have a total completion rate of 60%
– Starting Completion Rate: 49.33%
– Ending Completion Rate: 49.47%
I swear this number was higher before this month’s update! It was almost at that 50% mark giving me hope that maybe just maybe I could hit 60% before the year was up, but I have this really bad habit of starting games towards the end of the month making this number just drop way back down again. This makes any progress that I make during the month go away, but I’m not giving up hope yet.

Complete 75 games at 100%
– Starting # of Games 100% Complete: 72
– Ending # of Games 100% Complete: 73
Thanks Scrabble and Rocket League for making me get one step closer to my goal this month. I would have reached my goal this month if Never Alone didn’t add DLC and take away from my 100% complete number. Thanks Never Alone since I don’t plan on playing the DLC. Not to mention that my last trophy for Sparkle 2 on the PS3 didn’t pop meaning I have to start all over again to try and get the trophy. Thanks Sparkle 2!

Stop Pre-Ordering Ubisoft and Square Enix games!
– Starting # of Ubisoft and Square Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
– Ending # of Ubisoft and Squre Enix Games Pre-Ordered: 0
I’ve been going through some serious doubts with this goal. I mean I know I’ll probably be let down but Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is looking really good! To keep myself on track with this goal I have promised myself that if I stay strong and not pre-order anything from these companies, I can pick up Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate at a discount during the holiday time. Just a couple of more months of staying strong.

That was it for July and for August I would really like to finish Borderlands: The Handsome Collection – Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. I’ve spent so much time on this game that I feel like it’s just time to finish it and be done with this game for now. I also want to continue playing Fallout 3 since this is the furthest I’ve ever gotten with Fallout 3. As always, I’ll try to finish a few games here and there to clear up some much needed memory on both systems and maybe try to get a Vita game in.
